I'm not saying it wouldn't be great if they did just stick to their last statement but that is a payday that will put them in a great spot for whatever game they decide to work on next.

You know why the AI in the game is so basic? It is because the actual AI systems they were working had to be cut from the game simply not done. The only problem with Halo Infinite releasing last year would have been they only had the "Last Gen" version running. It will play exactly the same no matter when it releases, personally I would have MUCH preferred having it release as an Xbox One game last fall. That said, it was marketed as something to leverage the Next Gen hardware so the backlash is understandable in the context of this being advertised as a "Next Gen" game. Ultimately though the only thing we gain out of the one year delay is more graphical bells and whistles on launch day.

If EA lets Petroglyph do their thing with Command & Conquer.. provided the releases are successful off course, I would be quite happy. Obviously Petroglyph isn't 100% of old Westwood.. but there's clearly enough of Westwood there to make C&C still work as we knew it from the 90's (and 2000 in the case of RA2). The devs were making the game and their passion shows in the game but they couldn't get the game done. Management put out 4 release dates and didn't deliver at all. Perhaps if they were allocated the right amount of time to finish the game, the game would have been stellar. Why the game the way it is is that it is simply not done. A glorified alpha. You know why the AI in the game is so basic? It is because the actual AI systems they were working had to be cut from the game simply not done. So they replaced it with very simple AI with basic functions and scripting.
Don't blame the devs, blame the execs.

That's the thing I think a lot more people are finally understanding about these big gaming companies more and more. It's fine to give a company credit for what they do end up doing right but it's not something that's cumulative. Scrutinize every product on it's own merits every single time and you'll find yourself richer for it.

The only problem with Halo Infinite releasing last year would have been they only had the "Last Gen" version running.
It will play exactly the same no matter when it releases, personally I would have MUCH preferred having it release as an Xbox One game last fall. That said, it was marketed as something to leverage the Next Gen hardware so the backlash is understandable in the context of this being advertised as a "Next Gen" game.
Ultimately though the only thing we gain out of the one year delay is more graphical bells and whistles on launch day.

It’s a high quality game that’s not triple A, granted it doesn’t really have Replayability but kept my imagination running on what stuff meant. Lowest I’ll give it is a 8/10 for its price

If EA lets Petroglyph do their thing with Command & Conquer.. provided the releases are successful off course, I would be quite happy. Obviously Petroglyph isn't 100% of old Westwood.. but there's clearly enough of Westwood there to make C&C still work as we knew it from the 90's (and 2000 in the case of RA2). All I want is for EA to finally realize that in the case of 9 out of 10 studios.. the only way they're going to make good shit is if they keep their grubby paws out.
