The bit when the tune changes is amazing. It is the perfect balance of pure uplifting and yet somehow tragedy. It almost makes me think of how Tony could have had a happy normal life if he went the correct way instead of chasing the American Dream and entering a nightmare.
This theme has so many different flavours to it, synth, pop, gospel, classical, all of which combining to make a unique piece of pure art as well as keeping that classic 80's feel.

This music is perfect when you leave a job, graduate from school, death in the family, whatever it is! This music is perfect when something near and dear to you dies or is gone forever. It sets the tone to know that it's over and dead now.
Jan Kuźnik That's mainly because he's completely unable to love.... a friend or a woman or even a pet! He's heart became so cold because of the hard life he had that he was able to feel only the money and the power and that's it. Everything else is dead.

Crazy that people were turned off by this movie when it came out due to the violence. My dad grew up with this, Goodfellas and all of the classics. He never liked this movie for that reason. I was born in 1999, I watched this when I was 14-15, and I always held this to my top 10. Well the reason he stayed and fight, because he had nothing to lose, so he felt that there is no reason to escape. He lived a bad life; but he didn’t want to maintain his loyalty to Sosa by killing a wife and 2 kids in the car, even if your target is in that same car. If he did manage to do the job that Sosa asked him to do, then not only he would’ve survived in the ending, but living as a wife and child killer, and that’s even worse to live with. Even monsters have hearts, but to be frank with you, we are all monsters in our own creation.

I love this song because it represents the whole point of the film. I've seen it countless times, and all I ever got out of the story was how pointless his death really was. He got everything he wanted in the end, but when he chose to do something good by refusing to blow up a car with a whole family inside of it, it marked him for death by the Bolivian Cartel. That action is literally what did him in, and it's crazy how you could have everything but could also lose it in an instant. One of the best soundtracks of all time. I listen to it all the time and regret that I was too young to see the movie in the cinemas at the time of its release. It reminds me that no matter how shitty life gets, there is a world of music and movies to retreat into that is better than real life because it gets your mind off your problems and this music I feel it, it fills my soul as well as my ears.
This song make me want to be peaceful for once.
