This tune caused earthquakes. The drop. The bass. The bongos. Damn …… Whoever in their 50’s was around in the summer of 1988, was around when history was being made “weekly”. The power and energy of this tune captures the energy and the power of rave and dance music of this period 1987-88-89.
I don’t feel sorry, I feel blessed that I experienced the raves of Sunrise, Energy and was at the birth of the sound called House music & Acid. The transition from sweaty club to farmers field was an eye opener, combined with the music coming out of Chicago and more. The soundtrack of a generation added with a climate of oppression and utter madness, the raves became my place where I lost my mind whilst jumping (literally) around a farmers field or air hanger. The nights were total madness but it worked. Jesus did it work. This period of music was exceptional. The hits just kept on coming as did the raves. The days of the Wag could not measure up, the Sunrise Raves took things to a level that was beyond imaginable. The fairground rides whilst flying at 2.00am still give me hallucinations to this day. What a time to enjoy dance music and just “dance”. 2 without Hats embodies the spirit and sound of that crazy year of the hit summer of 1988. I listen to this tune and just smile. A time before this sterile hands in the air capturing the moment with a phone. In 1988 you went to dance and bug out. The music sent you on a journey and the DJ played with your head by feeding you banger after banger. Amen! 🙏🏿
1989 Trans Am with 2 12" subwoofers, T-tops and Rockford Fosgate Amp. Original stock gold rims cruising 86st. Brooklyn banging this and many others... We related lol???
