Three stringed cura,kopuz,is an authentic musical instrument that can be found in Teke region,Turkey. Since yoruks and nomads carried them in their saddlebags on the horses to the places they went, mountains, they were designed in small sizes. They have the selpe style,the traditional playing with fingers. It is the origin of many musical instruments. The stuff of this instrument is the natural wood that has the best sound quality.It is cut up particularly up to the grain direction of the very dry and ripe tree. Mulberry,cashew and mahogany are the main trees that I use in the boat and the neck of the cura,kopuz instruments. I used mahogany,rose,venge and maple tress in the keyboards. He has been carving three striped kopuz,cura , a traditional musical instrument since 2015. His biggest source of inspiration is Ramazan Güngör, the three striped kopuz master. He had training about making baglama and mathematical computing from Kemal Eroğlu,one of the most important baglama masters in Turkey, and still going on his trainings and search. He shapes the three stringed ones by using mathematical and musical golden ratio . He carves them with a detailed attention. The three stringed instrument,Cura, is the smallest member of the stringed instrument family with the most treble fret . A size bigger than the three striped cura has one octave less sound.The smallest member of the striped instruments family , cura,is played with the finger force and used in different parts of Turkey. It has also called as three stringed,cura,kopuz or finger cura. This is three stringed Cura,kopuz.The vessel length is 20 cm. case length is 9 cm,keyboard is 25 cm, total length is 58 cm. There are 10 nylon thread frets.While playing with the right hand,the left hand uses the keyboard. No need to use plectrum since it is played with finger.The strings are thin steel,, the lowest one is 0.18 , the medium and the high one are 0.20. The accord system is, low one (A), medium one (D) ,high one (E). The space between the lowest and the medium is 4 sounds. There one sound tessitura between medium and high string. The accord system can be designed as low or high according to this.
