This is seriously your first time time hearing this band? Wow what a song to start on. Such range. This singer is nothing but LEGEND. He even did a Timbaland album. He was in Audioslave too, which is basically Rage Against the Machine plus him. My recommendations: 1: First and foremost "Rusty Cage" 2: "Black Hole Sun" probably their biggest hit, with a music video so popular even Family Guy poked fun at it. 3: "Spoonman" because it is just fun. But there are many others, and these are the basics. You reacted to a good one though.
@@lt6245 yeah, but that doesn't mean they started it..and if I'm not mistaken mother love bone and alice were signed the same year to a major 1989. Soundarden beat them couple of months. They were somewhat huge in the underground scene
Mmmmm, they didn't start "grunge". They have even said that they hate being called that. They came out in the mid 80's when the fad of "grunge" wasn't even a thing. they got lumped in b/c they were from Seattle but they weren't grunge.
Dude, You found Soundgarden's heaviest song as your first to listen to.. You started it off on the Right Foot! .. Rock-On! Edit: Check out Drawing Flies on the same record! ;)
Not to disagree with the heaviest take because this is definitely in the discussion, but Gun from Louder than Love is absolutely in that discussion too. And maybe just as difficult to sing for him
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! It is just music and opinions in the end. Please make more statements like that based on YOUR opinion. It is the only one that counts to you. I might disagree, but that is what makes life spicy!@@nodaysback1
Eddie is awesome and he is the only one still alive, they were best friends and neighbors.but Chris never had a break pedal,no one can do it like Mr. Cornell did.he will always be the best.r.i.p
firstly, LOVE your positive reaction to this absolute classic... the song itself is about the environment, and humankind's misuse of it... be well, man! :)
Soundgarden was a true rock band, and a legendary one at that. This shit is timeless. Best of all the Seattle bands during that time IMO...and that's saying a lot.
Time to pay rent. I want another reaction to one of my newer tracks on my newest album, boom bap is back. I don't care which one, put I've been living in your head rent free for months and its time you start paying the landlord.
The last song they ever played live…. It was usually their closing song. I swear to God, I saw them in Tuscaloosa 2 weeks before CC died. I was staying in Birmingham and two hours after the show I was STILL feeling the reverb and feedback from this song. It was GLORIOUS!
Grunge began by mixing hard rock, punk music, guitar distortion & feedback which made a dirtier sound which took metal to another level.. Grunge made you feel some kinda way that Glam couldn't and I loved some of the Glam Metal.. The heavy makeup, spandex, and hairsprayed bands were going out of style and we were ripe for a heavier change. .God Bless Grunge!
Grunge rules. Soundarden is epitome of good heavy rock n roll..this would be considered alternative metal song..but the attitude is totally punk and the guitar solo is totally not metal.. SUBSCRIBED. keep reacting to Grunge
@@brandonstandberry8236 Its all subjective and a matter of preference, but Chris is definitely on the list of greatest Rock Singers of all time. Personally, Chris is my favorite
@@brandonstandberry8236 Cornell had the ability to get dark and smoky and then scale the highest peaks with his voice. He could handle almost any genre. He also played drums and guitar, and wrote the melodies and lyrics for Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and his solo work, and made major contributions to Audioslave.
automatic 👍🏽👍🏽. Unless ofcourse you diss *the.* *SG.* !!! then ofcourse youd be dead to hard rock. God forbid. Soundgarden is in the top 1 brah. Respect. The industry killed Chris just like all the other true greats like DMX and Michael Jackson , etc.etc. etc.
I would say that Soundgarden are metal for their earlier stuff and Psychedelic and hard rock from Superunknown and forward (with some exceptions, like 4th of July). Grunge wasn’t really a music style, more of a label for bands from that era and from Seattle, even though some non-Seattle bands are often considered Grunge, like Stone Temple Pilots. Like if you take Nirvana and compare it to Soundgarden you have two pretty different music styles, since Nirvana is more punk-like.
I mean it's not grunge just because it was a band from Seattle in the 90s, ABBA wouldn't have been a grunge band if they were a 90s band from seattle lol neither would Iron Maiden. There are definitely musical characteristics for grunge, they're usually slower with a more dark atmosphere Smells Like Teen Spirit is arguably one of the least grunge-y songs Nirvana ever made
This is metal! I don’t care what anybody says. It has an element of punk to it. But this music or this song rather is what you’d get if you mix Black Sabbath with The Melvins.
Bro you want to hear a new age guitarist that will blow your head off? Tosin Abasi is his name if you could check out inner assassins by his band animals as leaders you will not be disappointed
Slaves is like the stairway to heaven of our generation - cornell was the greatest singer songwriter of our generation - this song is too heavy for you - you would get slammed in the pit back in the day.. mofos went in high gear for this song...
Bro I’m a big fan of yours I really enjoy your reactions so funny too!! Please react to Ed sheeran - take it back You’ll be so surprised and mind blown!!!!!
Chris Cornell's voice is incredible plain and simple!! He also has the absolute best rock scream in the history of music!!!
That damn voice of Chris Cornell dude, just amazing!!!!!
This is the epitome of grunge. The definitive grunge band.
My favourite Soundgarden album.
"I'm trying to get better..."
Man, who can't respect a person saying that?
Yes, grunge/rock/metal. Who cares I say!? His VOICE! ❤️🙌 Chris is the goat!
One of the greatest rock voices ever. He's certainly my favourite. This song shows his range perfectly
R.I.P Chris you are truly missed! Anything Soundgarden is good you can’t go wrong with any of there songs.
CC lyrics are always off the charts
*I'm sittin here w goosebumps💚💚💚* Yesterday marked the 4 yr anniversary of Chris's "passing'💚💔💚*
Thank you💜

Soundgarden were the pioneers of Grunge. They're the first ones who started it
This reactor is t rash. He has over one hundred thousand yet gets less than a thousand views? sheesh, why you watch this eyesore?
Melvins, but Green River and Soundgarden were next

4th of July might be their heaviest
Soundgarden are METAL!!!!
Gun ... 🔥🤘
You gotta react to Soundgarden - Beyond the Wheel live in Germany 1990!, and Searching With My Good Eye Closed
You should listen to every song Soundgarden made and it will change your life.
The media labeled it grunge but the artists prefer the Seattle sound. Alternative metal/Rock/punk/classic rock
Incredible, magnificent, amazing voice!
To hear him do something completely different but just as awesome, try Chris Cornell (lead singer) covering Prince's song, "Nothing Compares 2 U"
MC Nemesis!
I will NEVER get over Chris's death. 😥
Same, same. Still hurts as much today as it did in 2017.
Do more Alice in Chains from first album "Bleed the freak" "we Die young" "put me down" "Aint like that anymore". All bangers. Cheers
Also from this album the two hit songs were Outshined & Rusty Cage.
Mind riot and drawing flies are great too they also did covers of into the void and come together
Eddie is awesome and he is the only one still alive, they were best friends and neighbors.but Chris never had a break pedal,no one can do it like Mr. Cornell did.he will always be the best.r.i.p
Amazing first song choice! My favorite song of all time actually
Try these two, if you haven't already. They are singles from the same album as this:
Rusty Cage
Outshined
Try my new album, no offense to the artsts he's reacting to but this reactor sux

Never stop in the middle of a vocal especially this one. 🙂
This is definitely a deeper cut of theirs to listen to for a first timer but maybe my favorite song on the album

I would’ve love to see Cornell cover Mississippi queen. Just go to town on that song
4 legs of the Grunge era: Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana!
Only Eddie Vedder is left ,- Pearl Jam💗
You forget Screaming Trees and Mark Lanegan. His voice is magical. He's still going

Soundgarden's Down On The Upside album is good to react to. Try a couple of tracks that weren't on the radio. Like TIGHTER & TIGHTER, BOOT CAMP
Dressed like the cheese on a big mac!
Chris Cornell of Soundgarden is widely considered the best of the grunge singers and one of the greatest rock singers of all time
Top 3 easy..freddy mercury robert plant chris cornell..in my eyes at least
I think Chris is in second place with Ronnie James Dio and Plant

I sang this song in a cover band. That is, every other gig we did so I could recover from the throat attack that this gives. Worth it, but painful.
