    I sold my very first flower bouquet today and I used the same wrapping style and paper as yours. I also learned from Sarah @ Blooms and Gray. Thank you for sharing you video. Your bouquets are amazing :)

    Oh wow when you said it isn't the process of selling them but growing that is so me. Same love flowers always have one in particular is Zinnias and there are so many but love all flowers. It is the growing and then the creativeness of putting thr colours textures and depth into a bouquet.
    My husband is German so a tradition is to go to the cemetery to put flowers on different anniversaries, we buy from a local buyer with a honesty box whwn thry don't man it. They have a really big backyard and I always say wish this was mine I do so much more and sell veggies too. We have a corner block but it isn't overly big as rebuking a house which is bigger than than the little one we outgrew ans hubby has a big shed. When we buy the flowers though I think I could do better though it was winter so not much around they are very average. Cost about $5 for the samll ones we use for the cemetery, which I usually have to take a tiny bit out for his grandparents. So I got the idea to grow flowers and to sell. It is 18th Sept so 18 days of Spring planted Zinnia and white Marigold but we have been having speing rain for a week.torrwntial rain stops sunny torrential rain been a week and meant to be till at least next Wednesday 🥲 Hope warms up as got some seed to plant. Yesterday bought bulbs like tuberose dahlias and Solomon's seal ao hope they will spread over the years. I aslo bought seeds one is Gomphrena (globe amaranth) called strawberry field looks amazing in big bunch in Google image. Lots of colours too thr darker ones retain their colour when dry
    I bought Cafe Au Lait must pot it up as it will be coming back very soon.

    LOVE, LOVE, your arrangements. Can't believe at this time you were just a beginner....pretty darn excellent!! I love how you wrap your bouquets; very unique from all the others. I actually watch Sarah from Bloom and Gray and love her style. I love that you tell us what flowers you are using and slowly show us the results. Keep your style of arranging!! It works! Thank you for sharing. Now I'm off to see your other videos!!

    Great video! Just so you know, rubber bands are compostable. Basically anything that used to be living or part of a living thing is biodegradable. Rubber comes from trees, so voila! Great reminder that silk is too! So is cotton, wool, cork, shell, bamboo fiber and hemp. I once composted feathers from an old sleeping bag that was sooo old and not great quality fill to begin with. My husband just rolled his eyes, but I earned my Captain Planet badge that day!

    You would love Sarah Ravens formula for bouquets! bride: focal flower like dahlia, church: greenery like basil, groom: spike like snapdragon, veil: something lacy like orlaya, bridesmaids: round flower like zinnia in either matching or contrasting color to focal flower bride, and finally, crazy uncle: something different like grasses, berries, or celosia plume or brain!

    I understand how you feel when you are sad that your big amaranth has to be set aside, it just doesn't work as filler. A suggestion: change your perspective. Don't treat it as a filler, use it as your focal for the next bouquet. Then let your creativity run weird, and make a stark, asymmetrical, fun bouquet. Sometimes those sell first!

    I love every bit of this video!!!! We have alot in common and I'm learning so much from you! Do you mind sharing around what price you would sell those wrapped bouquets and or jar arrangements for? I have a small roadside stand and find setting the prices so difficult!

    • @birdhouseblooms
      @birdhouseblooms  2 роки тому +1

      I did these ones for $20 and $40 for the large arrangement, and $10 for the little ones. I am trying to do recipes now though so I get more consistent. These are priced a little too low, but I can't help but want them to look lush and full!

    Which of those flowers did you direct seed and which did you start indoors ?

    • @birdhouseblooms
      @birdhouseblooms  3 роки тому

      Dahlias were planted directly outside from tubers. I started everything indoors this year, but I'm hoping to transition to more direct sowing next season to relieve some of the seedling burden.

    Beautiful! It's my goal to pursue flower growing in a similar style to yours one day, your channel is an inspiration!
    Question for you! This year I did some very lazy dahlia labeling and one deteriorated by the time it bloomed. I've been scouring the internet and tuber catalogs but haven't found it's name yet. It looks like the dahlias in timestamp 19:29, would you mind letting me know what those are called? I think those are the same variety as mine!

    • @birdhouseblooms
      @birdhouseblooms  3 роки тому

      I actually don’t know the variety of those ones 😩 I moved a bunch around last fall to new spots in the spring and all my tags got messed up. I’m so sorry!
