A great repair Arthur, it's a shame to see A great name like Lancia on a car like that, Lancia was once a great name in cars, it truly makes me sad to see it on a Chrysler 300.
That's the first time I've seen you use lead as a body filler! I like that technique better than plastic filler. Very old school indeed, you did an excellent job!😁
It often seemed that some older ITALIAN cars seemed to have sponge-like foam - not unlike the consistency of a kitchen sponge and therefore exacerbated the RUST situation to almost comical levels. HA - but I still treasure the memories of my wife's LANCIA BETA sedan and the many years of family use we had with it carrying our first two kids. HA - the upholstery lasted about 2-years in the AUSTRALIAN sun - the air-con gave up its life early in the piece and tightening exhaust manifold nuts was a weekly ritual and the muffler lasted not even 3-years - but I would not have missed our LANCIA experience - many great years spent with our 'quirky' little ITALIAN cars with the ever-present strange steering wheel position ITALIAN cars had. Still miss it to this day.
@@geneva760 I had an Alfa Sud that was not helped by their use of that foam. I set it alight, on purpose, and burnt as much of it as I could. My Ford Cortina Mk3 had it too, but I thought that the idea of using foam was sent to the "sin bin" and no longer used, and yet we have a current model still using the horrid poo
They'd sold 300s in Europe as far back as the Daimler days. Magna originally assembled them in Germany, along with minivans and several other Chrysler products. After the Daimler thing ended they started importing North American built cars and when the Fiat thing happened there was a hole in product line so the Lancia Thema was badge-engineered. There was an Alfa Romeo on a Chrysler derived chassis too.
Lancia sold very few pieces of this model in Italy and it’s very difficult to find spare parts, also from FCA. The same for Lancia Flavia...another Chrysler with a Lancia badge...I think less than one hundred pieces, the others was destroyed.
Great repair Arthur, as always , and just like all Lancia's good old Italian corrosion, just like the 1980's when they used to be rotten with holes in when new aka The Lancia Beta , killed most Lancia dealers , no Lancia models brought here to UK as nobody bought any of them apart from the Delta Intergrale , that's worth a lot more now than when they were new
mike berry This is not a Lancia, It’s a Chrysler built in Canada, as Lancia Flavia, with a Lancia badge applied. FCA sold very few pieces of this car and of Flavia also in Italy, the most of them was destroyed.
