    I understood 0% of VLSM before seeing this. I think I'm at 90% now. That's how useful this was.

  • @christianruvalcaba5332
    @christianruvalcaba5332 10 років тому

    ok nevermind i think i got it so every new subnet has to be consecutive right after the next one right?

    • @rwpla
      @rwpla 10 років тому

      Yes I think so. You start from the highest number of IP's required, assign them a range, and then for the next network, continue from the next IP.

    I think that VLSM is "so hard" because those who teach it seem to over explain the subject... it's not as complex as most instructors make it out to be.

    For the first problem i was confused for the /27 subnet. But then i saw how you got 95 for the broadcast. Just add 31 which is the 5 zero's, and add the previous broadcast of 64. Thanks

    It is a very good class but the camera movement back and forth makes it very hard to watch. About 5 mins at a time is all you can watch.

    30-50 secs thats all you got in CCNA exam to do 1 question, better off doing shortcuts once you got theory covered eg Binary behind all the subnetting,

  • @jondonnelly3

    Do it in your head. you have /24, you have 256 to play with. you need 64 (60). you take 256 and divide by 2 and borrow 1 bit, u get 128. u divide again and borrow a bit, you get 64. 2 divisions, 2 bits borrowed. you add those 2 bits to 24. Rinse and repeat. Don't forget hosts are -2 from the total available for network and broadcast. The amount of shitty videos and books i read before this was obvious.

    Stop moving the freaking camera. You're not making a movie. It's not like he's moving around the room. He's pretty much stationary. Only moving 3ft at most. Annoying
