I am an ex Kavos worker from the early 00s. Whilst it has changed it is still really similar. Went back for the first time in around 20 years last year so this is alway a trip down memory lane seeing vlogs like this. The demographic has changed, it was always 18-30s back in the 90/00s but with the advent of low cost airlines and cheap hotels you are starting to see people of all ages and nationalities.
I was there in 1999, it was like a war zone. People walking about with broken arms, legs. Honestly absolutely wild.
Wow, looks like a ghost town now. Had my first lad's holiday here when I was 18, just after it had been on Sky TV's Greece Uncovered, the place was absolutely buzzing. Never had another like it since, even Magaluf is pretty empty these days.
Kavos. It was 30 years ago that I was there, when I was 21. Lads holiday.

42nd and Rolling Stone was there in 2001 l remember them well 🍻🍹great times, a lot of new restaurants and bars now but thanks Kevin for taking us back down the strip and I look forward to your 1am video to see if its as lively as back in the day.
Was in Kavos 20 year ago. The Rollling Stone bar was definitely there back then. Used to go to a bar down one of the side streets for pints of headf****r, Good times.

Was here in 1989, remember a few bars 42nd street, manhattans, checkers bar and the Future Pace nightclub along with the limelight club, what memories that was 😄
The bar we used to go in has shut down. Good memories went there two years in a row years ago
Glad you have done this vlog mate, Kavos is one of the most well known party places in europe after Ibiza and Magaluf. Surprised at the lack of people but like you said it were very early.
Great video Kev, I went to kavos in 1988 on a club 18-30 fantastic two weeks their, 42nd street was there, there was another club I think it was called future place had some great nights in their

Hi Kevin I was a holiday rep for five summers in total, one year in kardamena in Kos and four years in faliraki on island of Rhodes. Brilliant times and the greeks are brilliant

Been to Moritika, paleokastriska and kassiopi in corfu. And just returned from Stalis in Crete and went to Malia for a night before it got crazy. Love the Greek people. Tenerife 15th to 29th December 😊. Looking at Dalyan in Turkey for May 2024.

Wow kev, went to kavos twice in the nineties, the only bar I remembered is the fountain bar. I remember the streets you just walked down were heaving with people. No cars could get through. Can't believe how quiet it is. Thanks for making it to kavos to show us what it's like ,especially with being under the weather. Nice one kev.👍👍

Hi kevin us lads went out there for hols in 95.and worked there in 96 97 and missed 98 when sky filmed grece uncovered most of the workers and dj.s were still there in 98. Jc.s rolling stone bonkers and the pubs mr beans jazz and twins.a great trip down memory lane thanks.

I was there in June 97 when sky was doing uncovered stayd behind 42 Street 18 30 best holiday I had ..brilliant 2 weeks ..Eddie you big girls blouse had brilliant time with the workers ..Great times bk then ❤

I was there in 1981, Myself and my Mrs did an excursion from Benitses to a hall ( apparently it was supposed to be a nightclub 😂) I remember it was very near the small beach at the bottom of the main street. We hired a scooter and went all over the island, very quiet then and I don't think I would like it now. 42 years ago! Quick as a flash. Enjoy it while you can people 😊

I went twice. Once in 2008 (i was 15 and went out with my sister and her mates who were 18+) , and the again in 2017. My faves were Buzz, Edelweiss (it's probably gone now), SOS, 42nd Street and Rolling Stone.
EDIT- Snobs is not new, it was there in 2008.
Was in kavos in 93 for 2 long weeks..didn't enjoy it TBH,.Only Bar I really enjoyed was,CJ cocktail bar,which I've just seen in this video down the side street off the strip,great 60s 70s and 80s music back then..The mosquito bites,fishing the toilet paper out of the toilet when you forget the bin wasn't an enjoyable experience. 😂went back to tenerife the next year
your a star man, you still sound bunged up and keep going, you stopped just before the apts we stayed at over 20yrs ago just after the lemon grove remember lying in front of the fridge trying to sober up lol, dont remember any of these bars so must have had a good time...wink wink.... 50k beckoning

hi kev just a heads up seem's like a lot of people don't know that kavos is not 18-30 anymore, has not been for nearly 5 year's now, it's aimed at family's & couples now, the kavos tv shows showing the crazy holiday maker's made the local's decide enough is enough next thing 18-30 is gone.
its defo still 18-30 mainly , i know they are trying to change it a bit but if the strip is still there they wont be able to change it to be honest as there are only a few quiet streets off it, I wouldnt bring a family to kavos there are much better resorts for families.

Was there in 1989 the place were all the young people were going was Benitsies Kavos was mixed age group then but you could see where it was going there was a trip that the rep's sold called the farm wild went back to Corfu a few times Acharavi and San stephanos.👍
Went to Kavos in the 90s..used to eat in the Village Taverna and end up in the Black Duck 😅🍹 🍸.. Good times
i am in my 60s and been going to kavos for abot 15 years !! was there in june !! the village was called hungry hippos ! same owner just a name change ! you keep saying nothing for the older generation but you are wrong there is a lot of older people have been going to kavos for years !! going back to the village they do greek dancing and the morfeas used to have greek nights but they dont appear to now !! i love kavos
Interesting to hear great that you love Kavos I just found the place was full of kids including the hotel which I didn't get any sleep in but not complaining I knew it would be lively. As I always say each to their own you will know Kavos lot better than me and great to hear another viewpoint .
@@ScotsmaninTenerife asprokavos is a lovely area and some lovely hotels including the mediteranean blue ! i always stay there and jeff in sos can tell you anything you need to know! after watching your video its got me wanting to be there !!
First lads / workmates holiday 1993-4 (found the VHS video that one of the lads did in the loft the other month will have upload it) was mental back then , remember the police car going up the strip after 12:00pm all the bars would turn the music down one by one then turn it up when it left. Hotel / villa we were at was guarded by the owners dad with a 12 bore hiding in the bushes.Remember a Hacienda copy night club ? Pool parties in one them hotels you mentioned away from the strip. Also no food spots open after the clubs had shut , just a old VW camper selling sandwiches and rolls

Kavos was my first holiday abroad Kevin 34yrs ago what a time we had,was Drachma then very cheap,I think that area further out is called St Georges but still comes under Kavos,the hotel Morpheaus was the main hotel back then definitely a lot bigger resort now I remember two bars called Splash and The Black Duck,the local police used to drive through at midnight as the music had to be turned down
Good to see the rolling stone still ,used to go every night after work.Gkt to say looks alot tammer there from when I was there in 2000 😂.lot more restaurants there now which is good.there was no families when I was there and no couples. All the names are changed apart from 42nd and rolling stone x

Kev I first went there 1985 lol
I remember my first trip abroad back in '96 in Faliraki and being pissed and falling for that penalty shot game. It's genius. Naturally the keeper saved all of our shots and it cost us a tenner each or something. Afterwards, laughing with the keeper, it turns out he was once 4th choice goalie for Panathinaikos🙂 It's tricky I find at my age now travelling alone abroad. I'm always conscious of not coming across as some weird seedy pervert bloke. I shouldn't have to feel like that, but I get it. Fair play to the good people of Costa Adeje who didn't make me feel that way at all. You must get some grief filming everyone Scotsman? I find most people in life are sound. It's just the odd one that you have to be wary of here and there.

Very much reminds me of when we went to Malia in Crete in the 90’s Kavos would be great for the younger generation but not for the likes of our age group I don’t think Kevin 😄 enjoyed the vlog as I’ve never been to Kavos 👍🏻 I don’t think I will be visiting their though 🙂

Kavos is fantastic so busy there if you visit Crete the biggest Greek island sometime Malia is like Benidorm and Ayia Napa joint together it’s crazy

When I stayed in Kavos back in 2006 my apartments were right next door to the McDonald’s, they were nice

Definitely not a place for me Kevin 😂😂, my son went a few years ago, he heard some locals in Kavos are trying to change the reputation there and attract more families and couples, and many bars close by midnight. 😀
Defo only a place for 18-30 I was amazed to see couples and families there.

Is the Rolling Stones bar still there? Always remember the headfucker cocktail with a condom served on the side 😂. Also there was a bar that done watermelon cocktails. Love your videos. My husband and I are from paisley aswell

The problem with greece they charge to much to fly there especially from midlands airports compared to other areas of the uk. Hence people fly to Spain more so and Ibiza France and other European countries from uk airports rip midlanders off
