Rep. Payne Jr. remembered as champion of progressive causes

Rep. Donald Payne Jr., a native son of Newark's South Ward who carried the progressive banner through multiple elected positions before eventually succeeding his late father in Congress, died on Wednesday at the age of 65. Payne Jr. is remembered by political leaders around New Jersey as a humble public servant once worked as a toll booth worker among other jobs before entering politics.

Don Jr. died pretty young. It's very sad. I worked with his father in the late 1970s. His Dad was a good man. I imagine his son was too.

Why are there all of these UA-cam commenters, who've only been on UA-cam for a year or less, with no previous comment history, saying nasty things about a deceased NJ Congressman that most New Jerseyans have never heard of? There's barely 25 comments, and at least 10 are negative, from people who've never posted a UA-cam comment before. That's quite odd.
