Dear Mr Hiker, I went to butler wash in 2008 on a raft trip, and I walked to the same cliff area, and cave grotto, above the pond, and explored the very same petroglyphs that you have documented here. I burned a small fire using bits of brush and sticks, way up in the hanging cliff bowl that you showed a glimpse of, above the pond. Incredible area. I have photos of the same rock grafitti. One symbol that was recurrent that I saw was a sprial that ended with a dog leg. I later learned from Navajo elders that the spiral symbolizes the endless universe and time. There are so many rock carvings that it looks like an area where lots of Dine, the Navajo people, met, lived and hunted for thousands of years. It's a national treasure trove of their presence. I'm very happy to revisit this place through your video. Thank you very much!

The Dine moved down from Alaska about 80 years ago. It was pre- Pueblo natives that created all of this.

@@MFMcNulty Perhaps you meant 800 years ago? The most common theory is that they migrated into the Southwest in several waves between 1200-1500 AD. You are correct that the Dine did not create most of the rock art in the region.

The confluence of a creek and river were always popular and very busy locations for American Indians; usually the site of a village, or important meeting place, etc. I've found petroglyphs one time that kept going, and they became more numerous as I followed them. They even continued around a blind corner - I walked around the corner and there was a huge pool of water with a fresh spring! I also found an old Pueblo cliff dwelling in a cave around 300' up (I don't think it was explored much before if at all). I got inside, and the ceiling was covered in petroglyphs. I was kind of tired, so I sat down inside, ate my lunch, and then took a nice 4-hour nap! I then watched the sun start to set from it before I headed back... From that cave home you could see for miles and miles - a very good defensive position!

That panel would be Ideal for my favorite way to photo them, as a Panorama. You could create a long photo very detailed and get the whole panel in one photo could probaly shoot 5 or 6 shots and stitch them together. Looks like the bottom of the panel is slowly eroding away. Great Video!

Have you hiked up to the Hidden Valley panel on the western Moab Rim? That's the LONGEST series of petroglyph panel's I've seen yet. My FAVORITE hike. Gonna do it tomorrow! Hit me up if you want to check it out! Couple of false kivas and dino tracks on top of the panels. Absolutely INCREDIBLE location.

So much for taking the time to document this years ago I went to see the petroglyphs up in Valley of Fire in Nevada lots of them bright Bryant nothing like this and twenty years later when I Revisited it they had faded out so much it was sad so I hope someone somewhere is making really good record of these before they're totally lost time your videos will be a huge record for future Generations so thank you keep it up

Thank you so much for posting this, for some reason it moved me to tears. The presence of those that had gone before was palpable. The Jacob's ladder style vertical features are reminiscent of other petroglyphs, that seem to be associated with magnetic excursion aurora features, in the night sky of the time.

Have you seen the Dineh Navajo swimming pool? It's brilliant and took some manual work, but it still works today. It's just a nice hole at least 3-5 ft deep. The Anasazi carved out channels in the rock above, so when water fell, it funneled into the pool! There are several "channels" carved out of the red rock, all leading to the "swimming pool". I'd never seen a think like it before. It's a genius move by those ppl for sure.

That was great ! When you guys take me / us on your hike with you, it's definitely a treat that we otherwise would probably never get to see. I like to picture myself sitting next to one of the braves, or shamen after he's carved in something, sharing water and asking about the figures, who they are, when were they here, what did they say. I'm sure some things are just things that they saw and could not explain. Like the guys with triangle bodies 😮 and the plasma arcs. You know, these people shared their world with others here that had technology we can't get our own mind wrapped around. Who were they ? Did they have communication with them ? All things, and questions I would ask the shaman as we drank our water and I thanked him by giving him my bic lighter. Magic!
❤ Thanks again, it was fun.

I find it strange that most of the human looking ? Beings, are shaped like that all over the DSW. This one also looks as if 1 person crafted all of the sponge Bob robots. Oh, they all look like they have ... weeners ? Is that like, Hi, I'm biological. ? Great video, 1/4 in. Do you think that the black material they chipped away was very old vitrified rock ? 😊

Very interesting space type creatures with lots of details, what's your opinion as to the origin of the pets mainly the space creatures do you think it was imagination or creatures they had seen, my opinion i think they had seen them them , almost all the pets ive seen in these west Midwest areas have space creatures that are spooky and some just give you the chills and give off a very uneasy feeling i might add , last question, have you ever been visiting one of these and had any uncomfortable feelings . Awesome video sir thank you so much, although i have explored so much of the tristate area of Nevada California and Arizona desert growing up in Kingman Arizona this i have not been to and probably won't in my lifetime at 50 now living in Ohio so the video is priceless, i still have family in Kingman and different parts of Arizona and California but with things going the way they are in this country i have my doubts but i guess u never know, so anyway thank you for the priceless videos

В некоторых случаях петроглифы обозначают излучаемый спектр самих скал и пород, образующих между собой определенное пространство с разными свойствами, влияющими на материю. Поэтому так важно побывать там непосредственно.
