Wow, the woman wearing blue in the background (Julia?) is beautiful! Love seeing Robban's routes, they look so fun to climb!
It's 6 am here and i am watching Robban the Genius setting routes. Yes i have issues :D
Question for Robban: do you have any tips for setting grades harder than you can personally climb?
Great question, I would like this one answered too.
Honestly, for commercial gym setters, the opposite question is almost as important. Setting routes more than ~3 grades BELOW your level is also difficult.
Basically do all the moves go? Or when you climb them, does it seem doable when you are actually holding on to the holds. Also are the movements readable. I generally don't do anything way to over the top but definitely want something cool about the climb.
I am not Robban but: You could set so you can barely make every move isolated. Then putting it together will be harder than you can climb.
I typically set the sequence I want first with holds I can control. Then I swap them out for slightly worse versions

Very educational! I think "down climbing boulders" was my biggest take away for the next time I routeset at the gym I go to!

How did you begin route setting and how did you get into climbing as a whole? You should have Q and As with all of the people you make videos of if they are down.!
Hey Eric, i was wondering, and hopefully either you or Nikken know some tips. How would a climber in the US go about making a decision to move to sweden or any other mecca of climbing? Are there certain steps to consider? Should i join a team? Should i just move and hope for the best? How can i go about meeting climbers in the area prior to moving? Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

do they chalk the holds before they open the climbs to the gym?
Do route setters pay any attention to the feedback climbers leave on Problemator? Do you grades/routes ever get adjusted based on that feedback?
i often set routes between 6a and 6b+ at my local gym, still learning and improving my level as well, but i find it very hard to set your anti style. so i'm good with crimps, which makes the routes i set with crimps really good, but i suck at placing slopers. any tips on that?
