The real reason is that the students are just focusing on getting marks although they get knowledge but their main focus is to get marks but eventually they have no knowledge and after getting degree which tells that how much knowledge they have but in interview they have no knowledge so they couldn't get job as they cant help the world
And we study for getting knowledge so that we can help the world and then we get something in return (money) but we should never seek for it as a reason of doing work , remember if your focus will on money for doing anything you will never be succeed
Money is an important aspect of life but not every aspect of life.

I think the point is that people have faith , confidence in their work or ideas or not .
Then comes risk and Courage(which is a huge thing) and getting away from peer pressure or herd mentality .
Culture also plays a important role and environment .
May be .
It's best that you get enrolled in a college then in 4 years you can do it by taking each day as it comes and decide. And also college curriculum will help you if student is serious to know about what to do and how to do it and obviously Big american companies visit Iit for recruitment coz they will find a good talent pool at one place .
