Finally someone who is enjoying both of these Portuguese entries! I like them too, and I also agree with everything what you have said. Thank you for your lovely reaction!
@@JarydReacts I prefer them singing in Portuguese, because they have such a beautiful language, but their very first English song-entry is still good and enjoyable. Might surprise a lot of people and sneak into the finals. 😁
Hello from Lisbon! Thank you for the lovely review. I prefer 2021 by far. I love this band and the jazzy/soul/blues feeling to it is also my cup of tea, so to speak. Being a Portuguese, I don't mind about the song being entirelly in English, you know. The Black Mamba normally sing in English and this way more people will understand the lyrics. Although Pedro Tatanka (the vocalist) has a solo project in which he sings mostly in Portuguese. Everybody speaks English here too these days, so it can't be a serious issue anymore. I doubt it will become a rule though. i suppose more songs in good old Portuguese will follow this one in the coming years. I agree with you on the b&w. I love that! Lets see if it qualifies. I hope so too. Best!
Hello, greetings from London! 😁 I get that, I don't mean to sound like I'm speaking for the Portuguese people or anything haha. I just think it's such a beautiful language and I love countries embracing their culture. It's my favourite thing about Eurovision, getting to experience all the diversity. But The Black Mamba do sound great! And I'm excited to see them perform in Rotterdam 🥰
@@JarydReacts Im pretty sure the band wanted the power of the story involved understood broadly, thus the English. And frankly if the Portuguese voted for it enough to win, even with their well-known love of sappy songs, it does sort of reinforce the power of the ENglish Lyrics
I really like "Love Is On My Side", I find it endearing. I get "Simply Red" vibes from this ("If You Don't Know Me By Now"), melancholia like this one plays with my heart-strings. I hope it qualifies, but I am not sure it does... At least we can be sure it will come across nicely at the big stage, they are great live and the vocalist is just top notch (quite rare voice, actually, so bright and beautiful). Yeah, prefer this one to 2020. My all time favorite from Portugal (beside Salvador Sobral) must be Telemoveis :D
If the singer, the musicians and their whole (national) backing entourage do a good job and everything on all levels is "in balance", it should not make any difference at all what language is being sung (See: comments entry Switzerland this year-even people who don't speak his language are touched by his song). Music is universal. A good song, a good musical performance will touch people's hearts regardless of what language it is being sung in. Portugal should also have the same right to sing in English as all the other Eurovision countries without losing any "brownie points" for doing so. I wish good luck to Portugal this year. It's a great unique entry that deserves to qualify.
First time ever, Portugal sends, song in inglish, so I hope make some impact,be honest I prefer to send in Portuguese, beautiful culture across Europe, why only inglish
I do not agree with you. Portugal does have identity either english or portuguese. The contest shows what each country sends, not only cultural but mainly good quality music. I know most countries have more acceptance with 'lab music type' but Portugal has identity by sending (mostly) good sounds. Not for every taste, but hey, it is not ment to reach ALL public.
@@JarydReacts If the music give you goosebumps doesn't matter witch language is spoken , The power of music is that , and this music is English is ok for me as a Portuguese ! Love from PORTUGAL 🤍🇵🇹

I know I was BLOWN AWAY byt Portugal of all countries sending someing completely in American English. Such a contrast to Salvador in 2017
I really do like it, but they should have sent it in Portuguese. Major miss there.
