Hi Liz, just a heads up. Just be cautious with how much info you share in public about how your job is going and all. Because even if you don't tell us where you work, there are people that will eventually know where you work and also almost everyone is online now you never know which boss or colleague comes across your page and misinterpret everything that maybe you are exposing them or something you know.. people are funny these days..so this is just little piece of advice. But thanks for the info. It's helpful but I just want you to be careful also with your choice of words etc.
Thank you for sharing your experience Liz. The first time I got a job in the UK I was a nervous wreck! Talk about taking notes and recording conversations so as not to forget what I was being told. One day my former boss walked up to me and took away my pen and said: relax, it's never that serious, you'll catch up. And true to his words I did. All Glory to Jesus 🙏
Mine was in 1980 as a teacher at a prestigious prep school.I was very anxious, cautious not to say or do the wrong thing. Parents were upper class with great expectations and asking a lot of questions about my expertise, qualifications and experience At the end of the day the principal commended me saying I superseded their expectations. i had no idea that I did well because I was gripped by fear. It turned out to be the best experience of a life time.
Congratulations! I am so happy to hear how good things have turned out for you. for your privacy don't disclose where you work, I think it's good to keep your work life separate, and I think your organization would also appreciate the privacy. 😊
God is good all times gal he always have our job at his hand he only need patience, I rem last year I applied many jobs receiving the email back that they have moved on with the other applicants it really hurts but I thank God he gave me the job when it was his time ,first week in a new job it’s crazy
Congratulations again Liz on your new job! Lovely video, I don't know why people are saying don't talk about your workplace ...you haven't said anything that will offend your employer. I think it will help someone else starting a new job in the UK for the first time. I can totally understand your experience, I was like that when I started my office job after many years of doing care work in the community. I had a bad experience being the only black person in that environment, but God helped me and I worked hard as an assistant then got an opportunity to do my Masters which was paid for by my workplace and successfully completed it. Now they love & respect me and don't know have anything to say because I'm more qualified than most of them 😂 and they know I'm very good at my job. God did not let me be put to shame but he excelled me, glory ro His name. I use multiple screens and a laptop too and I agree it makes it so much easier ❤
For me I was so anxious that I was messing up everything....I remember I was told to solve a problem for a client, and by mistake I deleted all their data it was so frustrating but i gave myself time and within no time I became the best...
I think the same way as many others, do not talk too much about your work. Some boss do not even intrested in social media and dont want to have not even minute info, about their orginasation. Remember you are not in Kenya now. Take precaution before your joys end.
I experienced the same when I moved to the gulf where majority are Asians. The first two weeks felt like two years. I had to read the operation manual to understand coz of language barrier.☹️
This is really encouraging coz my husband have applied so many jobs with no positive answer being without a job is difficult but iknow God will give us what is ours
Congratulations Liz! I love and admire you guys. Jeremiah 29-11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. God always keeps his promise. To both of you, keep on loving and supporting each other; the best is yet to come 🙏🏾❤
