This genuinely might be one of my favorite songs in any video game. It's hard to describe but this song radiates such pure, carefree joy. I actually feel like I'm at the beach frolicking with animals. DL3 in general is great at capturing child-like wonder in my opinion. For as frustrating as the gameplay can be, the art, music, and even general premise leave me in such a good mood that I can never stay mad at it. This game makes me happy :)
i always thought of this as a beach song but I didn't understand why until I played it at the beach it's because the crystalline background notes are the light sparkling on the water
This!!! thats exactly how i imagined the background twinkles!! Personally, i think the lead melody feels like an ocean tide that comes in and out and in and out. Theres the notes that are held for longer and tend to fade in and out and bring about a calmer image of an ocean like a wave that just hit the beach and is receding back out, and then theres the faster bursts of notes that are more exciting, like playful waves that crash over you and your friend as you giggle and play on the beach. I think its the combination of excitement and calm with the constant background feeling of a gentle sparkling whimsy that reminds me of beaches. (Unrelated but excitement+calm with undertones of gentle sparkling whimsy is also a way i would describe space stuffs and is also something kirby does regularly.)
