Got this as a gift last week it’s my first iPhone and I love it.
I've been using my XR since Nov 2020 and the only thing that actually bothers me is the screen, i used to have a Xiaomi Mi 9 lite and it had an AMOLED screen. But the performance and the battery life are pretty decent.

@A Z Absolutely agree that the battery was way better on iOS12. If you start 100% at 8am and you are on a trip and you will use it for pictures and videos and simultaneously upload stories on Instagram, by 4pm the estimated battery percentage will be around 40%.

Ip. R user here 2years already and it is still functioning in good condition
mines nearly three years old and is holding up really well the battery has only degraded 8% and can sometimes last 2 full days. I work in the building trade so the phone takes some punishment from drops and dust (always have a case and screen protector on) its even been left in my pocket without me realising when I went for a swim on holiday, it was about 5 minutes in when I realised. When I take the case off to clean it, it still looks incredibly good for its age.

I bought it new yesterday and I love it! I do not agree with an idea that you should buy an iPhone 12 or 13 which costs too much and has too less value for money compared to iPhone XR.

i have been using iphone Xr for 2 years and it works very well. still worth buying but with 128-256 gb

I got it yesterday
1:10 IP67 means underwater for 1 meter. IP68 means underwater for 1 and a half. Although the iPhone 12 and 13 series are tested underwater at 6 meters while having the same IP68 certification. Just a small heads up :)

Used mine for almost 2 years. Only drawback is, the pictures do not tend to be as sharp as when I bought it and also the memory space drives me crazy

Quick questions since it’s my first iPhone would it be best for me to get a screen protector and case? Do iPhones break easily?
Well, pretty much everything breaks!
But I do think iPhone are generally quite durable compared to at least Samsung phone (in my opinion). However I would still recommend you to get a decent case. I personally don’t use a screen protector, but I do think it’s a good idea to get one, especially if you are planning to keep this phone for a while.

How to save the battery?
This dude is underrated
As a life-long Android / Miui user, and after carrying around my Redmi 5 (5,7 inch) for the last 3 years, I bought the iPhone XR from an auction at a very good price (not cheap, but below the market price of second hands), and so far I really can't say that I am impressed, and definitely not convinced that this device is in any way better than the Redmi 5 (bought at 120$ brand new).
First I would mention that I`m the kind of user that loves the value for $ ratio, which is best in Xiaomi. I am in no way chasing high-end products, never buying flagships, as for me it`s not worth the investment.
The reason why I jumped on the Apple train was that I got tired of waiting for a "compact" android device with a normal price tag ... and the XR is exactly the same size as the Redmi 5, but it is a bit heavier (150gr / 200gr) , which still a drawback to me.
I was really disappointed by taking night photos by the XR, but it was later when I found out that Apple started the development of night photos in the 12 series.
My Redmi 5 with a Gcam modded camera would take better night photos than the XR. On battery life, I still can't comment if I`m disappointed or satisfied. It get`s me through the day, but I`ve switched on the low power mode constantly. For sure the Redmi 5 has a better battery life and can last at least 2 days with moderate usage.
I am still getting used to the iOS and still a lot of things are bugging me, but I`ve found solutions to some of them > 3uTools!
Anyway, a nice review. Subscribed as your review fo the XR was well made and you need more subs.

Tbh I’ve only really used Samsung phones and iPhones, so if you are on a budget the iPhone 8 in not bad option. But I can’t say too much about the oneplus 6t since I personally have used it before. I would also recommend the galaxy s10 if it’s within you budget.

I just upgraded from the XR, which I bought in October 2019, to the 13. The XR was still running great, but I wanted to have a better camera, battery (mine was at 85% battery health), and most importantly screen. It fells like many apps are now running slower on the XR (for instance it took a while to open UA-cam).
Nonetheless, it is more than ok if you do not make an intense use of it

I’m a iPhone XR user and battery is immaculate, gaming is the best! Don’t get me started in the camera! Apple proves it’s not about the pixels ram but the processor.
Just updated my XR to ios15 and I'm starting to feel it. There's a noticeable slowness in navigation. If you're reading this and thinking of updating your XR to ios15, DON'T, esp. if your XR is running ios14.X

It might’ve not been the fanciest Face ID iPhone, but it sure was reliable. It felt as powerful as the XS for the price of the iPhone 8.

if the 11 is within your budget, definitely go for it over the XR, but if it's not the XR is not a bad choice :)

I have the XR for my work phone and my brother just bought one new. I use an iPhone 7 for my personal phone though…XR is a little too big. I’ll probably upgrade to the XS sometime this year.

I'm assuming you mean that, is it worth waiting to see what the iPhone 13 has to offer. If so, than ya I think it's worth waiting for the iPhone 13 to be launched and then see if you still wanna buy the iPhone XR. The iPhone XR is only gonna get cheaper once the 13 is launched, so I don't really see a disadvantage for waiting a few more weeks.

I've been an android user for the past 12 years and now I'm considering shifting to ios for a change but I'm really concerned if I were to buy the iPhone XR because of the software updates and the longevity of apple ios support. Remember, the XR was released in 2018. Some say the latest ios updates ruined the battery life or performance of the XR. Is it still worth to buy it this late 2021 or should I proceed with iPhone 11 and up?
I just got an XR about a week or so ago and it’s great. It’s pretty fast for its time. There is VERY minor lag, namely in apps like Instagram, but that’s only occasional.
(Coming from someone who used a 6s+ prior, MUCH improvement)
The battery life is incredible, at least for me.
Note it is a bit trickier to get used to, unless you’ve been using androids with no home button.
Overall it’s a fantastic phone and I highly recommend it.
