Your coverage is just so good. The fact that you are able to make a two- week slow motion race without live video as riveting to watch as the Tour de France is amazing!
Awesome coverage Josh. Sarah S's ride with GPS route map is gold. The fact that it shows the road / off road sections adds a lot to those of us who have not ridden the route. I'm still hoping Joe Nation will come thru! He's had lots of sleep & is a very fast rider so I wouldn't be surprised if he does (injury allowing) - maybe alongside Lael who will be as fast & determined as ever!
Great updates! You mentioned doing the Tour Divide in 2019, did you remember Bear Stillwagon from that year? He is a Butte MT local and is currently in 12th place.
The thing that impresses me is that it seems like Justinas is just out there having fun, always with a smile on his face, despite intense weather, mechanical setbacks, lack of sleep, physical exhaustion. Also impressive he didnt let that mechanical issue get him down very much and is already back in it.
Great updates as always Josh! Very enjoyable. If it's possible to mix the volume on the Instagram/recordings down and your mic up that would be awesome. I've got you at full volume on my headphones (must be your dulcet tones) and then the recordings you mix in blow out my ears as they are about 30% louder than you 🤣 also some of the videos have audio which conflicts with you talking. Awesome videos though! Thabks
Keep up the coverage Josh. Awesome stuff. On Ride w/ GPS, you can click and drag on the elevation profile to zoom in on the section you want to discuss. So rather than having to find one of the Sarah Swallow's segments to have a narrower look at the parcours, you can do it at will. And based on your section, Ride w/ GPS will spit out data like elevation gain/lost, max gradient, estimated time, etc.
Great Job, Amazing detail and giving us who never did it the confidence to do the TD one day. if I may suggest we cant hear you talking and giving us insight over your videos that you add on of routes or other riders, if that make sense... Keep up the great job. Thanks again. Stevo Out..
Really enjoyable mate 👍 new subscriber, got a little bored of "Dot" watching 😅 for us Australian's great video drop time👍 loving the mix of hardcore MTB and pro riders+ novices AND a dog!!!! Keep on keeping on 🏆 P.T🤠
I can not understand, why have electronic shifting in TD? I have seen too many problems with them to ever trust one on long haul. What is wrong with wire gears?
I’m also a big proponent of mechanical shifting. But I can imagine that on extremely long rides the ease of pushing a button instead of mechanically moving the derailleur is quite nice. I experienced situations where it was physically really hard to change gear due to exhaustion and cold hands.
"The Divide is always going to be there....well, hopefully." I'm not sure anything you've said this week carries more unarticulated volumes. I'd love to hear your deeper dive into the future of the Tour, and of bikepack racing generally. Keep up the good work, Josh!
Get content Josh, thank you for your analysis. I've read most of the Tour divide books out there but until your coverage I didn't realize some riders are racing, rather than surviving the course. Do you happen to have insight into the racers vs the adventure riders?
North America could definitely use more exposure to cargo bike. If John & Merra's bike can do that all the better. With the advent of E-cargo bikes, there is very little justification for the ubiquitous 2ed & 3ed cars in No American home.
I still can't believe people are using e-shifting on a route like this. Question: Do people take the time to air up tires for the road sections while racing?
Eletronics doesn't go along with water eh eh Guys stay with cables 😉 my shimano drive train never failed me, if it does it's 5 min to change cables and there I go once again, and even with no cable I can adjust the rear derailleur in a way that allows me to have 3-4-5 gears where it will work has a single speed bike.

Your updates release with perfect timing here in early evening Aus time. Thank you for your work in putting them together for us.👍
Perfect in Aus isn't it!
Yes!
Early morning here 😃 , also not bad

Yep, he came and said hi last year
Best coffee talk in the mornings 😉

Great work Josh! Thanks for your ongoing coverage!
Can't thank enough, pls keep the good work summarizing what's going on
Good coverage and John and Mira are doing awesome!!!!

Thanks for all the videos, updates and insight Josh
Another great commentary! Thanks. I look forward to this each morning with my coffee.
Thanks again for this great morning routine!
The "w" is silent in Togwotee... Toe-guh-tee :) such a beautiful area. Thanks for your commentary every day -- look forward to it!
Brooks lake, blew my mind away, was possibly the most beautiful spot on the route!
Thanks!
Appreciate the race analysis!

Good stuff thank you!
Excellent update as always, thank you!
Impressive :)

I can't understand a bike that has to be plugged in to work properly
I agree. Electronic shifting is a Gee whiz technological answer to a question nobody asked.

@@gdugs Agreed. They should also ditch all electronic navigation and communication devices and route by map and compass.
@@oldanslo no power meters, acetylene lamps. We may be on to something.

Hi Josh- what is an alternator? Thanks for the great coverage!
when you show your own footage can you mute the sound? We can't hear you speak over the footage-noise (especially wind noise)
Yep just figuring out the levels after upgrading the mic
@@joshibbett It's getting better and better!

Where is Fleecer Ridge on the route? Thanks
About 50 miles after Butte and just before Wise River
Enable the Super Thanks so we can tip your hard work on this coverage!
What is the ettiquette of going to sleep in a trail drop toilet and finding a rider already asleep in one?
Well the door will most likely be locked so I don’t suppose the second rider will be able to get in there!
People using a place someone is already sleeping in is bad form. Someone did this to me during a TCR - not cool. Find your own spot!
Sorry to hear about Ted King. Hope he's ok. Did the right thing , can't risk your health!
