This looks like a super fun trail, is you're outback wilderness lifted in these 2 videos (hurrah pass)? I have a 2010 OB that I'm converting to a overland/off road rig. Can't wait to try these trails when I go to Moab next.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge of Moab and the shear beauty. I had plans to visit Moab for some mountain biking. However, now I will also enjoy taking my new OBW (supposed to get it April 23) on some of the trails you have reviewed!
Visiting next month. Running solo. I won't go too far on the trial because of that. But still want to get off road a little bit. 2024 Outback Wilderness (as is) no mods.
Love your videos and the soundtrack is awesome. After watching your videos I pulled the trigger on Outback Wilderness (White long horn sheep). I think it looks awesome in white. She suppose to arrive end of March (cant wait). My wife and i are planning road trip and a bit overlanding toward the end of July. We are in Canada (mid west) and heading out to the Rockies and Kootenay mountains for a month. Can you share your playlist?
There is something hanging down on the drivers side in the back, underneath. Looks like a hose or a wire. Might want to check that. It could just be a twig you picked up, but I noticed it in the first 3 minutes of the vid. and stopped to post. Now going back to watch the rest. :) I'm at 11:24 now. Haven't seen that thing hanging down for a while, but Ihaven't seen a good angle underneath either. But wow, that terrain you are in at 11:24 looks like the ruins of some kind of Kingdom I see giant gates and columns. It reminds me of a video game I used to play like the entrance to a big city carved out of stone.
I think what you saw is the 4 to 7 pin adapter wiring that hangs down in the rear. The place is absolutely incredible! Thanks for the comment, Databyter!
I took that same route last year right before EJS and it's a very scenic drive. Your drone shots were incredible! Wish I mine turned out half as good as yours!
I appreciate it! Long canyon is a sweet little spot, I was hoping for a little more difficulty, but it seems like the trails has changed a bit over time.
Really enjoying these Subaru videos! I have a Forester with the same wheel setup as you, but I've always been hesitant to do anything in Moab for some reason. Next time I'm there I'm hitting up this route for sure.
I just got a 2022 Outback Premium. I love it already. Subaru makes some really cool and capable vehicles. It would be amazing if they brought back the BAJA as a double cab mid sized unibody truck with a 5ft bed, tow around 5,000lbs with their symmetrical AWD system with a center locker and low range or a wide spread in the CVT. Something to compete with the Maverick, Santa Cruz and Ridgeline Unibody trucks.
How do you think the wilderness would do on the black bear pass in Colorado? I financed a wilderness specifically for road trips and mild off-road adventures and I plan on making Colorado my first trip
I drove Long Canyon about a year ago and it was super rutted out by the tipped over boulder. Was that not the case anymore? Did you get through that section easily?
Good timing on the video. I'll be doing those trails in a couple weeks in a rental Jeep. It's good to know that a Subaru can make it through with no problems. How much traffic do you run into on those trails? Just in case something happens, I want to have an idea of how likely I would be to encounter others out on the trail.
Right on! We didn't pass anyone on long canyon, but passed a handful of people on gemini bridges. Season is just starting out in Moab and spring break time draws tons of people so I would assume you will see several people on every trail.
@@roamingwithjosh Thank you for the reply. I'll be there the week before EJS, so it sounds like there will be a little more traffic than during your trip.
Moab is what you make it. There’s plenty to do and see for everyone, regardless of how big your rig is. I don’t have a lift and I enjoyed the heck out of myself. I would test it out without a lift and then decide what you really “need”. Everyone’s idea of overlanding is different so unless you have a good gauge, just go and have a good time and test your vehicles limits. That’s my two cents.
Well so far that OB of yours has surprised me 🙄🤪🥴🤭. Mountain Goat you say? Ehhh yeah compared to the Jeep it's a Billy Goat. Just a little momentum & it'll pretty much go where the jeep will go minus Deep Mud & boulders just more comfy. By any chance did Courtney happen to notice the hill descent control helping any or is it a different model? Still good to see someone Actually putting the OB Wilderness through some true Overlanding testing even Without a lift kit. Remember right after you got the OB I mentioned that it will make it through 75-80% of what the jeep will do & do to the trails the jeep Might need 4x4 for 25% of the trail. After your Moab trip it makes a little sense now aye? Can't wait to hear Courtney's view of the OB since she did most of the driving & didn't leave you in a shallow grave. ps Since you're probably back home now have you checked your cvt fluid or changed it?
You can tell when she was using X mode on the downhill sections because the car is going abnormally slow. I think that's the only thing she liked about X mode. When we do the review video I'm going to drag her into it so we can get her opinion since she spent most of her time behind the wheel! All fluids checked out and have stayed pretty consistent throughout the trip! The one complaint is no winch. If someone would make a winch plate and bumper for this vehicle it would change a lot because the fear of getting stuck would pretty much be removed and you could then take it beyond its intended capability. Thanks for the comment!
As far as a winch goes check out @bruceyyyyy "Installing a Winch on a Subaru" 12:59 min vid from 3yrs ago @@roamingwithjosh He did his own & factory plastic bumper cover snaps right back in place. Any winch you put on is pretty much going to void the warranty anyways. I like the way bruceyyyyy did is cause of the weight. How often have you seen ANY 4x4 actually need a complete 1/4 inch thick steel bumper that needs a engine hoist to install? Will the OB be taken to the areas that a 1/4 inch Thick Steel bumper be Needed? People think oh 300-500 lbs isn't much till you add in the weight of everything else you've packed in. Don't forget the wear & tear of that Heavy 1/4 inch Thick Steel bumper on the front end suspension, drivetrain & MPG on your Daily Driver that you Might use Once a Year. Plus the $$$ put into a steel bumper could go to diff lockers & LP Adventures or Rally Innovations bars look pretty sweet IMO ps Check out @Powerofyourbrains & where they take Granny

It was not lifted when I hit these trails. You will definitely be able to tackle them and you should!
@@roamingwithjosh awesome, that's great! I definitely will once I get some skids plates and some at tires on it
How much ground clearance you have on this?
This video was with the factory suspension and larger tires.
@@roamingwithjosh oh wow it did pretty good for that. Would those tires fit the stock rims?

Next time I head out there I'll be taking my bike so I could use some insight on those trails! Enjoy!
Amazing scenery and the Scooby is doing well Josh !
Agreed! Thank you!
Gotta say i just have found this channel but it seems to have some really interesting content ao far
Thanks for stopping by!
Great drone work. Just a full on overland video. Keeping it real. Just what I needed.
Appreciate it, dude!

You can go farther than you may think. Go enjoy and trust the OBW
So gorgeous! Might hit you up before my trip out there to get the details so we can check it out, looks like the kind of trails we want to do.
You know how to get ahold of us and we’d be happy to help!

Great video. I'm so happy I chose OBW for my adventures.

Ours too! Thanks for the comment!
Awesome vid as usual Bro
Thanks, dude!
Just got mine in geyser blue, this car is a real beauty. Love driving it. Although might not be off-roading like you 😂
As long as you’re enjoying the ride!
@@roamingwithjosh oh yeah your channel helped me pull the trigger on my purchase.
I wish subaru would take note. Thanks!

As thorough as you are Im sure its mentioned somewhere in your videos.. what rockslides and where are they sold?
Lp Aventure is where you can find them!
Awesome great views, absolutely beautiful, very much appreciated 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching and thank for the comment!
I see that you don't have those Nittos on unfortunately, so when are you going to test those??
Whenever I get a chance to get out and do some traveling.
Have you driven White Rim Trail in your OBW?
I have not
Absolutely beautiful! Great videography. Oh, yea, fun adventure with the Wilderness. Local dealer had none of them… 😢
We appreciate it! We had to order ours and it only took a couple months, finding them on the lot is quite the tall task. Good luck!
I really enjoy the amazing drone footages of the trails, keep it up you have a new sub
Thanks you, Dave! We appreciate it.

You’d be surprised what you can get done in one of these things! If you ever need any input just ask and I’d be happy to help.
Do you have a link for the rock sliders?
I do not. Got them from LP aventure
Can you tell Mrs. NativeNomad that my stock Subaru Outback 3.6 limited climbed long canyon.. SUCCESSFULLY. 😁
Done!
Is the repetitive noise I hear while you are on the second trail a locker setup. If so wich brand do you recommend ?
I do not have a locker.

I've still yet to do Black Bear so I couldn't speak to it.
I drove Long Canyon about a year ago and it was super rutted out by the tipped over boulder. Was that not the case anymore? Did you get through that section easily?
We got through it pretty easy. It’s rutted out and rocky, but wasn’t difficult with some good wheel placement.
What setup is that dashboard phone mount?
67 designs
@@roamingwithjosh did you just screw it into the dashboard? I have a speaker there on my OBW

245/65/17

It’s a list that a curate on a regular basis. It’s a huge pain the find them, but when they workout it’s awesome! Thanks for the comment!
Will I need to throw a lift kit on my Forester Wilderness to enjoy Moab or am I good with better tires and all the skid plates?

All suspension is factory, just larger tires.
What is that noise??? Something isnt tight.
Insane that you noticed it. It was the rear shock body.

Get stuck in that fine dune sand and it’ll cost close to a grand to get towed out of the trails around Moab. At least air down a bit.
