As for me being a liar, I guess it’s better to give you some context. One example is my father, he is Saudi and was never exposed to western media/culture, and yet never in my life have I seen him treat any member of the lgbtq community any differently, he never judged them nor looked down upon them. Why? Because he goes by “you have your beliefs and I have mine”.. Another example is when I see two non saudi dudes acting all lovey-dovey in public(although masculinity and femininity have nothing to do with sexuality, sometimes it does give you a hint), it’s clear they’re gay and yet nobody does anything about it because they don’t cross the line(meaning: penetrating each other in public). Now tell me, who would travel around the world(be it saudi or any other country) and start having a casual conversation with a local about who they prefer to fuck in bed...
what I was trying to say is that it’s not either black OR white. It’s not always as extreme as one can imagine it to be. It’s easy to create such an idea of a place or belief if one has never had the experience to adjust to them, or has never even tried listening to what others had to say. I wouldn’t be here watching these videos from this channel if I hadn’t gone through this process of listening and learning.
Also keep in mind that we are westernized, of course it’s gonna suck. We don’t think like the majority, who’s been believing in and prioritizing the same entity for CENTURIES!, does. So during my time overseas I've personally witnessed 3 stonings. 2 were gay men being stoned to death, and one was a woman because she spoke to a man that was not her husband, SPOKE TO A MAN! I've lived in middle Eastern countries for almost 6 years between being in the Army and being a Private Contractor. Riley has no idea the level of brutality committed on gays or transexuals in thoes countries. The thing that gets me the most though is the thinking that just because a majority of Muslims don't think these groups should be stoned to death that it wouldn't happen to her or that thoes people would come to her aid. It wouldn't happen. They would join in, they have to. it is a community thing, they make everyone in the community do it as to show their support of Sharia law. But sure Riley go ahead and go to these places. I know for a fact you won't survive.

Also on this, I lived on a military installation called Patrick Henry Village. A term used to define a young boy under the age of ten that are used as sex slaves by the male officials. Actually the current Bible is extremely accurate to ancient manuscripts. The Ancient Jews were extremely anal retentive about the accuracy of their religious texts and the Christian monks weren't much different.

The Vatican chose which versions of the gospels to include in the Bible out of multiple variations of each... the "word" of god in the Bible predates written history. It was stories that were told over and over and over again, the first of which being written 400+ years after the death of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament is more standards as it is taken from the Jewish faith, but the New Testament has multiple variations that are said to have been written by the same men... each carrying in style.
Jess, the Biblical cannon was first laid down in the second century radically predating the Vatican. The current form of the Bible used in Catholicism was decided on during the council of Trent in the 1540s and the only change that was made was a heightened view of the deuterocannonical texts, commonly refered to as the apocrypha. As for the accuracy of Biblical texts, it depends on whether you're looking at the Hebrew or the Greek texts. If you're looking at the Hebrew, you basically have the Leningrad codex as the most complete and oldest fragment of text. Yes, there are other fragments but if establishing the historic accuracy of a passage is in question and its covered in the Leningrad codex, it's generally assumed sound. The Greek is tricky largely because it's far and away the most common ancient text to find intact fragments of. Basically, we have too many pieces of it to know what precisely to do with it and studying ancient texts can be tricky as the dissemination of information wasn't nearly as simple then as it is now given that it was all copied by hand by scribes. Scribes were prone to mistakes and sometimes would make changes or corrections based on their understanding of a text. It's annoying given our standards now, but at the time it was common practice. At the end of the day over 5000 fragments of Biblical text have been found and have generally confirmed Biblical accuracy. There are a number of text variants, but none that change the meaning of the text so drastically as to make the whole thing debunked. So, for example, if you want to read Plato or Aristotle (who affected social/political/economic development for over a millennium) you'll find their texts are vastly less accurate and vastly less consistent than the Bible. Of course interpreting a text from a radically different part of the world from Western society, and from a radically different time becomes a brand new problem on its own.

As someone who is half from an Islamic background (Iran), I totally agree with you. Islam itself is blatantly homophobic, but not all Muslims actually are. My Muslim best friend and her brother are 100% supportive of gay rights, even if their parents aren't, my close friend who is also muslim is aware gay people did not choose to be gay and is fine with them, my Dad is respective of LGBTQ+ members even if he doesn't understand every aspect of the community and my friend group (who are all Muslim except one) aren't super supportive from what I know but definitely aren't raging homophobics either. But that doesn't change the fact that Islamic countries are super discriminative against gay/bi/pan people and I honestly don't know why Riley is denying it. I'm not denying that my (half) home-country is homophobic as fuck, so I don't know why she is. Christ.
