hey Ben, love your videos. have been interested in lift surfing for a while & was wondering if you know of any good literature available on them, about how they work in depth and different types and that sort of thing. i know a bit but I still feel like a huge noob. thanks!
Thanks. I am not sure what you mean by literature. There is not really anything about lifts anywhere. The only literature I can think of is very dumbed down stuff with titles like "how lifts work!" which doesn't tell you anything at all. The only other things I can think of are instruction manuals which are very hard to get hold of (they are found on top of lifts and on restricted parts of companies websites). These are often very hard to read and get information out of them. They are mainly of interest if you really want to know how a particular logic works. What is it you want to know about?
I'd like to know everything about them tbh, but I'm really more interested in learning general info about the different aspects of the lift system & about different models and stuff, so I have some idea of what to expect when I eventually go surfing. Would very much hate to get injured out of ignorance xD. Like I said, I know a bit, but would defs like to know more before actually getting on top of one. And by literature I meant like, textbooks for lift engineers and that kind of thing. I found a few in my university's library, but they are from the 40s and as such don't really pertain to many of the lifts you'd find in operation today. But really any kind of resource that would be good to go over prior to surfing would be ideal.
Tacky tourist shops, you will find one on every corner in amsterdam too. Last summer I went there but there where no good shops around except those souvenier shops. The only somewhat good shop there is a small game store with super expensive prices. In amsterdam everything is more expensive to take advantage of tourists. Is that the same in London too? I would like go go there some time and look for record stores and retrogames. Our christmas day was rainy, I have stayed indoors because my uncle was visiting.
certain places on two rails are yellow. what are those yellow spots? interesting that a lot of people are busy doing nothing. lego train is excellent. the tourist area is tfl zone 1. london eye is very red at night.
Great video Beno! For Christmas you got intelligent levelling and a nice Express!
installed some of the lifts in whitgift centre Croydon for schindler in 68.
Totally agree with you on the beginning. Many people have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas and it's gotten too commercialised now. 😠
Joe Ross I agree
if you read TFLs timetables, if it doesnt say no service on christmas day then it will run every 3hrs
cool video ben my best freiend
Great video!! ...as always! :D
happy XMAS Beno
What did you get for Christmas Ben?

dykodesigns2yt Yes London is pretty expensive. Outside of the touristy areas might be slightly cheaper
Are there any good retro game stores with reasonable prices?
