The establishment was part on the Institute of Naval Medicine they war involved in research into the effects of the bends in humans also the effects of sea sickness. They were responsible for training military Diving Medical Officers. They had several Decompression chambers that were used experimentally and also worked with Hospitals to administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy to try and cure military and civilian divers that had the effects of the bends. They were also able to help people that had carbon monoxide poisoning and help MS sufferers The Goats have a similar respiratory system to humans hence why they kept them for experiments
Ever heard of mind the pun , peflurocarbon it's a liquid you can breath like in the film abyss it's basically emniotic fluid that can be used for super deep sea diving, just a suspicion , I'm pretty Shaw the tank house had the tank to drain in to a pool on the second floor with a cart that could also wheel into it and had a door all on the second floor the outher plant building had another separate tank for draining the main tank completely from the main tank house it seemed to also have a heating and cooling system I bet it could be pressured also but this is all my own best guess at what they were doing.
The red spherical wall mounted items are most probably salt dispensers/lockers for the goats. Salt is an essential part of some goat breeds dietary needs. The bonded stores area that Matt described in terms of his Customs days, is more likely to be related to materials that had either been rejected as being not fit for purpose, or had yet to be approved by quality assurance as be ok to use. The sign did say quality assurance bonded store.
Where do you find these places?? I’m hooked on this channel now because you’re doing something I used to love doing myself but due to life and bad health I can’t anymore. I love the 360 videos. Keep them coming and I’ll keep watching and liking and loving them. Bravo Matt 🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻🧡❤️💛
24:00 pneumatically operated valves. A low pressure air supply acts on the membrane in the large disc at top. Low pressure large area ay top membrane = high pressure low area at valve actuator inside. Control air line aways under pressure. Zero control input has a few psi so you can see system is charged and isn't leaking. Control input needs higher psi. Zero input can mean valve fully open or fully shut depending on how its set up. Old school process plant kit.
Great video ...stayed up late on a school night to watch the whole vid! Always find Qinetiq sites fascinating given the history behind them. I don’t think this site was ever part of INM tho, I was privileged to visit here in 2000, some parts were off limits, there was a large technical workshop which features in the end of your vid. The valuable bits of kit/chambers were lifted out via the roof via crane and then moved to Haslar via road convoy around 10 years ago now. Some pics online somewhere! The high security and razor wire was down to it being sensitive but also was regarded as a high threat from animal protestors some of whom blockaded the site once. Oh by the way Q staff had their leaving “do” in that 2 tier conference room!
you are right these places should immediatley be reused or leased out instead going to waste such a waste of taxpayers money but they have no concept of budget its an endless pit of money for them
By the way the pipe used to fill the tank, around the 19.30 mark, you see the gas tap with the yellow level in the horizontal position, that wants to be opened, turn it 90 degrees to get flow.
I knew someone who worked there, the goats used to graze in the field next door, then disappeared , the tank you referred to was used to submerge the goats to see how they reacted to pressure, some exploded under the water, and fort monckton along the golf coarse is a training facility for MI6 and special forces, I used to watch the puma helicopter fly in
Funny how all these MOD places you go to are connected to this Qinetic company isn't it. Makes you wonder what the hell went on in these secret places and the things that they are hiding from us x
Qinetiq took over from the UK military's "Defence Research Agency" and moved toward more commercial purposes (but still as a defence contractor). There are even some DRA signs still around the site.
"if they can't get the bloody projectors right how are they gonna get goat experiments right" As a film student, I stan this message lol def not the right equipment. Also wouldn't be surprised if this stuff got moved into re-vamped secrecy somewhere (despite all the lobbying etc)
In America they just put it under the heading of "National Security" which is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act. Plus, if you do find out what you are doing, they will either 1: Kill you outright, 2: Slap a gag order on you so that if you talk about it you either disappear in a prison somewhere or are killed, 3 Threaten you and your loved ones into silence! The military here will keep it's secrets intact at ANY cost! In Brittan you have it a lot easier especially if you are well known like TheSecretVault/Matthew Williams is. The man is a genius!
@ Briancorty4348 No they are not, I work with primates and goats, those are definitely not primate cages they are not secure enough, however they are short term goat cages, by short term you can only hold goats in those for up to a week without having a much larger area!
why o why do you have it in for the MOD ??? when a civy company had the building after them you got the swiming pool wrong the water tank wrong what else have you got wrong
Animal experiments yes... but I have a funny thought... MAYBE, just maybe, the sickbay and sick pens were just for sick goats... because you know, sometimes goats get sick as do most higher life forms... and maybe they need a place to keep them away from the other healthy goats... 🤷🏻♂️ Dunno, just a silly thought I had... 😂😂😂
What wast of tax payers money, you could of built few council houses on that site or home for homeless not for war; U.K certainly had it priorities wrong, that is what get with Thatch Government.

I think you meant to say Lickers for the goats not lockers. Lol. Thank you for the info.
really love the intro music and drone work..Thanks for all the hard work and fantastic content Matt

On those plans it looks shows those green cages, each has a door that leads to the exercising room??
1:44:00 CH3COOH stands for "Acetic Acid". It's chemicaly "winegar".
It's not IUPAC, it's kind of laboratory slang.
went here the other day, definitely worth it. some reports of paranormal activity but never actually had anything happen.
By the way the pipe used to fill the tank, around the 19.30 mark, you see the gas tap with the yellow level in the horizontal position, that wants to be opened, turn it 90 degrees to get flow.
Silvered windows aren’t always to stop people looking in, although they can be, more often to prevent sunlight reflecting on computer screens.
A veterinary sick bay is standard practice at this type of establishment,a bit like having sick bay for humans on a military base
I grew up in Alverstoke and never knew this place existed. Drove past it a million times.
that pool looks like something they would test a diving bell in i bet that is deeeep
Look forward to seeing your next portsmouth video. do you have any more waiting 28 days to expire ?
or was the tanks moved to another facility hidden away
The red spinning thing on the wall T 49.38 minutes is a likkit animal treat holder, probably for goats.
Why the hell you only have 27k subs. Should be 100k plus
The roof slabs have been moved, and a most of the undergrowth has been removed in the last 3 months...

41:45 110V is safer. Discharges to earth during a fault is via centre tap on the transformer so you only get hit by 55V.
That was mental green 😂
Can’t remember the place where the toilets were yellow I think 🤔
Great vid as usual 👍
1:11:57 there is now a diy skate ramp and like a table and sofa in there now
Theres plenty of vile human beings they can test on, without harming animals.
Sick pens excercise area, It is behind the doors you did not open in the green room. Exit to the outside from the left one.
Brilliant video 👍🏻
Matthew, is this footage from mavic Air 2?

Very interesting......great dream video
nice one matthew
Liked the vlog from Margaret P
Gosport is not Portsmouth though is it!
Read lickers, not lockers.
This place reminds me of the movie Plague Dogs. Saddest movie ever made.
I’ve been here before, it’s horrific
All radiators of walls. This is men. May be not kids. 🎉🎉
Sett it was submarine training escape facility which has moved to holy loch Scotland
14.06there vacuum pumps Matt
I've been in that building a dew times😊
so so sad
*ucking hell Matt 😂
Gosport. Not Portsmouth
I agree with Lee James. You must be out every day. I take it your retired and do what you please with your day matt
Not retired - I often can shoot a few videos in one day with a few days off then.

"knock it down immediately" Heh but then how will they keep millions if not billions in "upkeep" funds in limbo
An Evil place.

no such dog as a Alsatian there german shepherd.
Same thing different names from different places unified in one nation.
As far as I know German Shepard's were renamed Alsatian during WWII by the British to disassociate the name from Germany.
