Great reaction as always. All covers of this by Angelina are glorious but I prefer the stripped down version Piano Diaries. That version lets her voice absolutely shine. Thanks to Toby for asking her to sing this cover of his song for his Piano Diaries album. Toby is quoted saying, “Working with Angelina has been nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to channel profound emotion through her voice adds a whole new depth to the song.” They are also working on other songs for AJ. This will be huge for her.

I can appreciate your perspective regarding the different renditions, from the original, to Beyonce, to Angelina. The first version of this song that I listened to was by Angelina. I have listened to five versions by her, Brick Lane, the two in St. James church, the Sofar and the Palladium. So I prefer Angelina's, because that is what I encountered first. As usual, the emotional element is more present in Angelina's versions. Her interpretation in this way is why I listen to her. I listened to the original by BC, and the Pop version by Beyonce, and while each had different impacts, I still prefere Angelina. Another aspect of this is Toby Gad, who wanted to reimagine his songs with different singers. Having been through the production of his songs at an earlier time, it is refreshing to be able to reimagine a lifetime of work in the way he has with his Piano Diaries. I applaud his efforts...it is a brilliant and successful approach by any measure you may choose. But in the end we must again return to the basis of our preferences. And I will repeat, I am over 80 years old, and in all my life of listening to popular music there is no equal to Angelina in the way she infuses a song with the emotion the lyrics deserve. That is why her covers of songs are so successful and impactful. She breathes (sings) new life into any song she may choose to perform. Thanks for your reaction...and Angelina is my favorite!

@@Room2703Reacts Yeap both are emotional, Angelina has emotion embedded in her tone. And the fact that it is a softer version makes it more emotional in my opinion. The raspy voice she has naturally brings out vulnerability. And she chooses to use vocal fry on certain beginnings of phrases that further increases the expressiveness. Can we talk about the fact that the Sofar performance was in your face live ? A keyboard and Angelina. And it was flawless. I don't agree you that you have to like a song better because it's your favorite artist even if someone else does it better. Alot of famous songs have been done over by other artists and come out better than the original. It happens.
