Sleep walking and sleep terrors ran in my family when I lived with my parents and sibling - all 4 of us did this. I don't think it's a psychiatric problems but a neurological one. But eventually I have grown out of it now that I am 71.

I slept walked to my grandmothers and didn't remember how I got there but I remembered my dream. (Very embarrassing so hard to not remember). I have also have been riped out of sleep from pain in my dream that I was still felt upon awakening. So this doesn't make sense to me. ??? You can remember the dream when sleep walking.

What’s shocking is how little we know about sleep after all these years. This information covers general rules as it would apply on a standarized test. With sleepwalking you can have vague, fragmented, or no dreaming at all. So, it’s possible to remember something. In general, a person would have little or no recall of the walking event itself. Could someone still recall some details of the walking event? Yes, it’s possible but not common and would not occur in the vast majority of cases. Hope this helps.
