Greening the Operating Room

Hospitals are among the largest users of energy, highest producers of waste and are major consumers of paper, water, and other resources. With a goal of decreasing environmental footprints, Kaiser Permanente hospitals are working to reduce, reuse, and recycle nationwide. Kaiser Permanente's Sacramento Medical Center is one of many Kaiser Permanente hospitals putting a special focus on "greening" its operating rooms, where there's great potential for saving resources and bringing down the cost of health care.
