The thing is his speed helped him so much. His instinct however is still lacking. If you watch carefully he didn't run to follow Eriksen after his header, he only started to run when he sees the ball was free. If he was slower and that defender didn't slip, it wouldn't have been a goal. He doesn't have poacher instinct like young Ronaldo.

Garnacho's awareness for his first assist is actually insane. Most players would've either tried to take that shot, or play it to someone else. He literally just cushions what isn't exactly an easy ball to cushion, going at that speed, at that angle, to Bruno knowing he just has to run and hit it, as opposed to Rashford who has to turn on it at least and might've gotten flagged for offside. Knew the better pass and made it. Brilliant awareness.

Garnacho played like a senior player. Always running in, trying to find space and taking players on. Bruno plays his best at his natural position, it is evident to see. Marcus is the best presser in the game, his constant press is what led to that third goal.

I was at this match next to the away, Aston Villa fans and from what I remember this game was a spectacular game and I wish I could go back to a game like this again!!!
Garnacho deserves more minutes. It's great to see Martial, Rashford and Bruno on the scoresheet. However the midfield and the backline problems remain the same : focus, fighting spirit and awareness. We still rely on Eriksen and Lisandro with not enough competent back ups more than Lindelof and Casemiro. January 2023 should be the month to strengthen the team with more quality signings.

@@ally3960 exactly! First, Martial is not a proven 20-goals a season striker. Second, he is too often injured. Unproven injury-prone striker. That's why Man Utd only scored 18 goals in the EPL so far. Haaland alone has 18 goals.
