Because what you built there is not remotely as precise and robust as the real deal. With that threaded rod and those tolerances, you can't build any proper clamping force.
I do give you credit for fabricating some things that are useful but yes you are a (HANDY WELDER) that's it. You could probley rent a spot at the local flea market and turn a few bucks. Go to school for pipe and structural and make some videos that are worthy of bragging about. Made in TEXAS Brother!!!!!!
