Hi Scott, I really like your video, the way how you presented the Zone picking in D365 FO using ADVWHS & Mobile device. Clear and straight to the content. Kudos for your lovely work. Cheers!
Hi Scott, thank you for this video, I noticed that the Locations you created with Location profile ID - NotLP, have you a video on creating a NotLP location within an AWS warehouse? I had been under impression LP active is necessary for AWS warehouses, but also read something about it can be disabled if you need this requirement.
When we talk about Zone picking, is it recommended to configure also Rack and Aisles in Inventory Management in addition to that or it is kind of useless?
In AWMS there really isn't a rack and aisles like there are in non-AWMS d365. What I generally do is set up my zones small enough so that a worker can comfortably stay within one zone. I see sometimes warehouses with huge zones and the worker is moving all over the place. I would definitely look to create smaller zones than to create larger ones.
If you zone pick in a high volume sales order environment how do you consolidate the goods at the packing area into one shipment efficiently? Doesn't this become a nightmare to sort?
How i can use range in this query on work templates if i would like to change scheme of work (f.e. - pick, put, pick, put ) and simple (pick, put) depending if the work is collecting from one or more zones ?
I don't know of a way to do a range of zones. You can enable extra fields on the locations. The feature is called Additional location zone. This adds new fields what you would do is create a code that would go across zones. In other words if you have a zone 1 location and a zone 2 location in the new code field just put 1and2 or some code that means zone 1 and 2 then put that code in the query of the work template.
I'll take a look at this one. The problem that I have is that I don't really have access to a 2012 environment anymore to show the comparison. I'll see what I can come up with though.
You need location directives, but you really don't have to do it in respect to zones. Most of the time you're looking for a location profile. You might use a zone in your location directive if you had a zone 1 for regular picking and zone B for bulk items. Your location directive would specify zone 1.
DynamicsPost Thanks. I was testing the scenario with location profile in the location directive and had three different work template for zone 1, zone 2 as you had demonstrated and a standard work template for that warehouse. Sequence of the work template was zone 1,zone 2 and standard template. But it failed to create work wrt to zone instead it created work using standard work template
Thanks for all your videos, Scott. They are very helpful on topics in areas that I am not familiar with - Thanks again!

Thank you!
Great. Thank you for sharing it. Please continue the good work.
Thank you!
Thanks Scott. Have you any experience in staged picking, in D365 where pick can only commence in one zone after another zone has been completed?

We are facing the same issue. Any recommendations in order to make it a dream for warehouse operator?
Can you please do a video on cluster picking?
Yes I'll put that into the queue to do. Thanks!

What is main difference between 2012 r3 and d365fo Advance Warehouse Module?
Please provide video on this topic

Do we need to set up location directive as well with respect to zones

@@vijaysam6069 work is always created by work template.
Great. Thanks
