    My treatment for Petiriasis versicolor: CVS type stores, buy Nizoral Anti- Dandruff shampoo, 1% ketoconazole.
    Get a little cup and fill with water, squirt a little bit of Nizoral into water and mix it up.
    Before taking a shower dab some of this mixture onto your scrubber or cloth and apply liberally onto the rash. Wait for three (3) minutes while this mixture is working (might burn if you wait longer). Rinse off. After a few days of applying 1-2 per day this process works for me and rash does not show.

    Typically yes, a person will have had chicken pox first before breaking out with shingles years later. I didn't have chicken pox until AFTER I broke out with shingles at 15 years of age. My mother had taken me to 'pox parties' when I was little, trying to get me to catch chicken pox (it really was a thing parents did back then). But I wouldn't ever get it.
    At 15 I experienced incredible soreness, very deep, on the right side of my torso, then little blisters and the severe, shooting pain! Finally my parents took me to 2 different doctors, the one who had been my doctor growing up, then my mothers doctor. Both said I had shingles. It was so bad that I was admitted to the hospital. I was crying from the pain and when the emergency room doctor was examining me, my mom then noticed I was getting little spots in other places like my chest, my arms... my mom asked the ER doctor if I now had hives, from crying so much and stressed out from the pain. The doctor looked and said "Nope! Now she's breaking out with chicken pox!". I had to be quarantined for a few days in the hospital. They had a medical journal photographer come and taken pictures of my shingles and I think the subsequent chicken pox. But from what I understand, my case and pictures are in some medical journal or something out there.
    It's very rare, but yes, you really can break out with shingles without having broken out with chicken pox first.

    Mine started drinking sweet drinks & juices with a lot of sugar. And my back was heated so had to turn on my sides for weeks then came the lesions & itching and now there's crusty patches on my sides arms are red at times rashy. Been using witch hazel & benadryl for the itching last week started between the knees. I see a dermatologist next week hopefully find out what the cause was. Feeling a lot better now. Laid of a lot of sugar. It's strange & pray knowone or I get this again.

    I had what I thought was poison ivy but then the rash started being diffuse little red itchy bumps clustered all over my arms (more on the right than on the left) and I have a patch on my neck that looks like ringworm, so I'm not sure if it's all the same thing or whether I might have more than one type of rash at the same time. It has been very humid lately and I was working in the garden and yard before I got it, so could be some sort of fungal infection. Clortrimazole cream helps temporarily but then in wears off several times a day.

    • @doctorrosi

      Pityriasis rosea is understood to be a result of a viral entity, and so there is no treatment for it. However, maybe reassessing the diagnosis would be a good idea💡

    • @doctorrosi
      @doctorrosi  Рік тому

      If you're referring to ptyriasis rosea, it's a different appearing rash than ringworm (tinea corporis). Also, the causes are very different, ptyriasis is thought to be secondary to a viral infection, whereas ringworm is a type of fungal infection. I would recommend clarifying with your physician, I hope this helps !
