Your first Dooney is an equestrian bag and was made in the late 80s/early 90's. It is made of the original all-weather leather, which they do not produce anymore for environmental reasons.

Beautiful collection Frances! We have the same taste in Dooneys! I own two zip zips as well as three florentine satchels, one buckley, a Shelby shopper, and the camouflage duck olivia (which I barely use because it doesn't go with many outfits). I have sold many and regret most so it is a good thing you changed your mind on selling that beautiful snake satchel! That's an original and just gorgeous! I'd never sell that one! My most regretted one I sold was my sunflower Buckley drawstring since it was beautiful and now impossible to find! Oh well, just material things...but beautiful material things...lol One day maybe I'll run into you at that Ollies store in the states or tjmaxx! Then we'll see which one we're both carrying! I love Dooney so so so much! That black purse you got your friend in ny!! I have that in cream with brown trim and it IS so classic!!! Loveeeeee that pre owned blue! Great collection ! 😍 Great video ! 🤗 I'm new to Dooney and Bourke, slowly building my collection. And I have to do all my shopping online. I noticed you have a bag in Wexford leather, could you say something about what's the difference between that leather and Florentine leather ?
Hi Brit ,you have chosen to build a great collection ,these bags are so amazing ,Wexford leather is a very smooth lighter and thinner leather with a finished coating so it won’t suffer from rain spots and also a lot lighter than Florentine,which is usually a smooth grain ( but not always ) it’s a thick hide and quite heavy to carry also absorbs water and shows rain spots if caught i. The rain ,so needs a lot more care and conditioner,I still think it’s a stunning leather and smells amazing ,if cared for will last a lifetime I own the Florentine ocean satchel which is one of my favourite bags 💙

I have 3 bags in Florentine leather, so I have some experience with them. I have never taken them outside in rainy weather, even though I have treated all 3 with a leather conditioner... I agree with you they are heavy ! 🤣 Maybe I will get one in Wexford leather to see what I feel about that leather, now I am a lot wiser about what it is ! 🤗

For smoke smells use an apple and cinnamon stick for 3 days keep checking on it , then let air dry another 3 days , repeat until order is gone . 1 st bag 💼 equestrian 1975, 2nd bag is the dome , 3rd bag 💼 is the slough hobo bag , plz do not get rid of the snake skin bag hard to find whip stitch handle suede interior , beats Chanel and LV any day quality wise . UA-cam Blue Florentine leather made from Italy . It’s hard to find as well .
