These couple of episodes gave me a bit to think about as well. I am a teacher and I've lived in a family of teachers and while it would be great to teach the way you want, the truth of it is is that there is a ton of standards, rules, and regulations that schools and teachers have to abide by if they want to stay in business. While the idea of the EEA is seen as annoying opposition here, boards like them in the real world are a necessary evil to making sure that students are making progress and are all being held to the same standard. So, while I can see what Twi is doing wrong, I can also see what the EEA is trying to do as well.

I remember thinking after the movie that it would take something special for this premiere just to break even after the quality of S7 and the movie. Given how this episode managed to get such a strong response in both positive areas (All the new concepts, plot options and the side 6) and negative (I mentioned how nationalism is ruining my country, so naturally the EEA grated at me even more), I'd say it succeeded and your reaction kept pace as always.
Seeing that the movie is canon to the show, there's just one burning question that's still unanswered: during the crisis in the movie, where the hell was Starlight?! THAT was a rare time when her powerful magic skills could've really helped out! I guess that's one way to "nerf" Starlight: just have her go AWOL when her magic's needed the most lol
Then again, she saved the day or otherwise stepped up big a number of times already, as in the Season 6 finale, a few times in Season 7, Mirror Magic, and again in the Season 8 premiere, so maybe she just needed a break from doing it?

The School of friendship. Another scene similar to Harry Potter like the restricted section in the Canterlot library. If Harry Potter would be the case the question is which student is going to be sorted in which house and which of the main characters is going to be head of the houses ? Maybe Twilight for Gryffindor, Rarity for Ravenclaw, Fluttershy for Hufflepuff and Trixie for Slytherin ? Another option if Duel Monsters would be a subject. In that case the students would wear blue, yellow, and red jackets and Duel discs. It would be awesome to see them duel. And what if Garble the dragon would be a student ? Maybe he would be the school bully like Sunset Shimmer in the first Equestria girls movie ? And I think Diamond Tiara's mother Spoiled Rich should have private lessons at the school. She's a real bitch! As for what I saw in the episodes: 3:13 Will Tempest Shadow appear in the season ? 5:29 At the top left corner the old pony with glasses is the pony we saw in episode Hearts and hooves day. 11:32 Ember it's not a good idea to force a child to do something against her will. 12:32 If Silver Stream is Queen Novo's niece than that means either her father Sky Beak or her mother Ocean Flow is related to the queen and Silver Stream's brother Terramar is the queen's nephew. And I wonder if Silver Stream's cousin Princess Skystar will pay a visit to Pinkie Pie ? 13:03 At the top left corner is that a canadian pegasus ? 14:37 Fluttershy is good at caring for animals but is she good at biology ? 14:52 A scene from pinocchio. 17:05 Sandbar has Rarity's cutie mark. 20:04 I would like to see a griffon breathe fire. 23:10 The chancellor is a dickhead. It depends on if Emily Blunt would agree to return to reprise the role. 2. Mr. Waddle, that's right. 3. Well, dragons are still learning. Makes one wonder how Smolder was chosen to represent them. 4. It'd be nice, but again, it's doubtful. 5. Well, I do see a maple leaf, lol 6. She'd have to have some rudimentary knowledge of animal biology to care for them properly, I'd assume. 7. I got no strings to hold me down... Sorry. XD 8. Does he? I didn't notice. 9. We kinda did, in Griffon the Brush Off. XP 10. That's putting it mildly...
The only thing I don’t like about this show is that they constantly try to make people be friends and this episode just goes to show how willing they are to do that I mean they basically put creatures into a school against their will seriously you can’t force someone to be friends
It’s good to see this video is unblocked. Kinda ironic that the Student 6 only started truly bonding as friends by skipping friendship class together don’t ya think?
