I always wonder about the 3 exact same punches situation with Cody. It feels like a situation where you get hit, you're dazed, and your body just goes on instinct. It's a thing fighters love to do to an opponent because they become extremely predictable. If you can get that damage that scrambles them, you can build on it way easier.

The crazy part is that Cody’s reckless fight against TJ was right after his fight with Cruz; where he had a brilliant fight plan and completely outclassed Cruz the entire fight.
I’m not sure if you’ve covered this topic before, but there are some classic old low IQ moments. Thiago Alves taking down a known submission specialist Martin Kampmann after winning the entire fight on the feet and getting caught in a guillotine, Fabricio Werdum running after Stipe Miocic like he owed him lunch and getting knocked out, the entire early Ryan Bader career lol

2:30 "Silva pounced like a cat to a laser pointer" No he didn't, Silva slowly walked to Chael for a second, staring him in the eyes, Chael staring back. It's almost as if time slowed down, and Silva just let the massive blunder sink into Chael's head for a second, mocking him, then he pounced. It's glorious, although Chael still won so...
6:39 I don't think that dude was going for a takedown. I feel like Omalley dropped him with that elbow and it looked like dude dropped for a takedown. Dude should've never pushed Omalley against the cage tho because obviously that's just dumb.

That o malley fight i think about from time to time. I just can't wrap my head around why he would KEEP (not just take him down once) KEEP taking down a fighter that CLEARLY HAD A LEG INJURY AND COULD BARELY STAND. It was so surreal to watch live.
Chael thought that if he tapped he would just lose the round which he was up 4-1. He wouldn’t have tapped if he knew it meant he would lose the fight. So that was more of a misunderstanding of the rules, than a loss.
Yan did not "dominated" Sterling for 4 rounds. That fight was back and forth, Yan was winning by the end of the 4th round but Sterling had good moments and could've come back in the 5th round.
Last week I was watching Edmen Shahbazyan vs Gerald Meerschaert and again another "low iq moment". After hurting GM3 body, Edmen pulled in his guard and threw a barrage of punches before gasing out and losing the fight via submission to the veteran. Edmen should have GM3 get up, hit the head to deviate attention from the body and so on and so forth.
A good punish on a risky technique like a single spinning attack shouldn't really count. Yes, spinning attacks are risky, but they generate a lot of power, and when timed right, can be devastating strikes; and many have been successful in MMA. Just because an attack is countered, doesn't mean the use of the technique was a bad plan, it might just be execeuted with insufficient skill from that athlete
"Tesshy-era" haha. But for real, as amazing as that fight was, I still get mad thinking about him basically handing the victory over. He did it with Anthony Smith too.
