  • Today’s guest is a multi instrumentalist producer, songwriter and artist who has had 6 Uk No1s, 11 Top 10s and last year was the youngest ever winner of the Brit Award for Producer of the Year. He has been called “a genius” by Brian Eno and “The White Burna Boy” by Burna Boy. A child prodigy, he wrote and produced his first album at 10 and started writing his first Symphony at 14. This was performed by a 50 piece orchestra at his high school when he was 16. His second symphony written aged 17 was performed in London by the Royal College of Music with a 60 piece of Orchestra to two sold out nights. Two years later he had his first No 1 with Clean Bandit & Demi Lovato, followed up immediately with his second with George Ezra which took his first off the top spot. The latter was the biggest selling song of that summer and has become the longest running UK Top 75 song of all time. He also became a key collaborator of Ed Sheeran, producing the bulk of his No 5 Collaboration Project including 3 more No 1s. He is presently writing Ed’s next album. At the time of writing he is not only the #1 selling pop producer in the UK of the last year but also the #1 selling rap producer as well as being nominated for Best Dance Recording at the Grammys this year (with Jayda G). He has worked with artists including Ed Sheeran, FKA Twigs, Justin Bieber, Stormzy, George Ezra, Brian Eno, Khalid, Nicki Minaj, Maisie Peters, Headie One, Cardi B, Camilla Cabello and many more. Now releasing music as an artist himself, our guest has garnered over 4mil months streams on spotify. And The Writer Is… FRED!

    Emotional reaction of interviewer is zero, such a detached dude maybe intimidated who knows, Fred‘s just so fun to hear and watch, so polite always aligning with the interviewer, just enjoying himself, what a lovely guy ha ha, so cool…but still happy to get this window into Fred‘s soul and life, so thanks anyway

    You realize that Fred is doing music not just for the fame, but he actually loves doing it. People say success amplifies the character. Fred is just so humble, down to earth and focussed on the path. Inspiring.

      @はメンゴです76 interviewer is a guy with a stupid hat on indoors, fred again is a very successful producer from a comfortable background at the apex of his life, the dynamics is obvious. However big thanks for the both of them bringing this up.

      I think a lot has to do with the interviewer just not being great at interviewing. He’s asking good initial questions, but then not talking about Fred’s answers or acknowledging some of his stories. Leads to a very choppy and cold-seeming interview.

    Wow. Pure passion. What an articulate and humble artist. Great artists don't try to be like anybody, they try to find their own unique view/potential. My take anyway. I'm not a musician but in the creative industry and this was inspiring.

    It's Art, and Art is viewed or heard differently by different people every time it is produced and or put out in the Artistic space to be enjoyed. Fred is one of the real ones, WAIT, hold up. Did he just say FreeD? Fred Again in Zooming FreeD. That explains exactly what Fred does and is, as a Audio & Visual Artist/DJ/Producer/Live Artist ect ect ect. Keep on killin' it my UK brother from another. Just to let you know, I posted last week on one of the SM sites about how you, Fred, remind me of my fav DJ/Producer/Audio Tech Geek/Audio Software Creator and hands down an all around Gifted ARTIST & down to earth kinda dude, Mr. BT. He's just twice your age, as am I but what you do transcends time, space, and matter!! I made the statement that "you just set the bar a little bit higher, so creative kids, you now have a lil bit harder to work" JS FreeD is DOPE AF

      His questions were great. He asked everything you could hope for in this length of time.
      I don't like it when an interviewer is too 'bro-ish' ,sycophantic, or takes away from the interviewees time by interjecting with their own stuff.
      We're here for the interviewee, and the interviewer is a conduit to get the info out of the interviewee. So, I'd say he did good job of staying in neutral (not fan boy hysteria nor trying to underplay any of Freds achievements), getting through heaps of questions, and being respectful.

      @@monealiza7553was a bit awkward though when Fred would tell a story and the interviewer would just not even acknowledge what was said. It gave the vibe that he wasn’t interested in what was said.

    This interviewer is literally like "you did this thing and became more successful, how did you do that....how did you do that?"
    It's so weird and desperate 😂

  • @pandaparad0x
    @pandaparad0x 5 місяців тому

    thank god for Fred bc host is the worst interviewer ever . he’s not even, at the bare minimum, a conversationalist . no bantering just reading off a question sheet . i’m sorry i can just feel all the jealousy . he doesn’t even comment on what fred said before he’s just annoyed /zoned out in the face , falling asleep, arms crossed ready to move on and be done . bro needs to drop some tabs and experience ego death . just be excited for another artist and stop faking emotion with cliche facial expressions that blatantly say you weren’t listening. only saying this bc i feel bad for fred having to talk to himself and take time out of his day to get asked repetitive & empty questions that don’t even help the audience understand his unique writing style . there are no secrets or quick connections that will make your songs “popular”. it’s pure talent & consistent work motivated by a genuine passion for making music.
    you have to be an authentic person actually interested in getting to know people . burna bro wouldn’t work
    with someone just cuz they have the technical talent , you have to be personable to work with great people . stop separating your personality from ur work , you have to be an integrated being. there is no self. there is no success. enjoying what you do every moment is success . clinging to material or social gain and dwelling on one’s lack is suffering . be yourself.
