Thank you so much! I hope you have an amazing time in Greece! Some recommendations:
      Beach:
You can go by tram at the 'Bolivar'. It is a beach bar, it is open early in the morning and it stays open until late night and there are many parties. (There is an entrance fee also, and there is no tram available after hours).
Also, you can go by tram at the public beach in Glyfada area - I have a video on that area. Very nice beach, but there are not really any facilities, only a few umbrellas and you have to go early in the morning if you want to be the lucky one enjoying the umbrella!
If you are renting a car you can go:
Kavouri beach (is the first beach in the video), which is a public beach but there are also 2 beach bars with sunbeds and umbrellas. The exact location of the area in the video is just in front of 'kavouri beach playground'.
Porto Rafti Panorama beach (is the second beach in the video), it is a public beach, it is really nice but if you prefer a beach bar there is 'Porto Rafti Avlaki beach' very close to that. For the public beach you don't pay anything but for the beach bar there is an entrance fee.
Also you can go to 'Varkiza', I have a video on that area. It is one the best places that you can go in Athens, by the beach. You can find a really nice beach bar there 'Yabanaki beach', (there is an entrance fee) but also there are options on public beaches, but you have to go early in the morning, because it gets packed with people.
Last one, you can go to the area called 'Anavissos' where there are different options on beach bars and the sea is really nice.
      Taverna:
      In the city centre:
'Avli' it is a hidden taverna with amazing food!
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d8747072-Reviews-Avli-Athens_Attica.html
'Efcharis' very nice food and if you are lucky there will a singer there, singing live greek songs.
      www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d4746098-Reviews-Efcharis-Athens_Attica.html
'Dioskouroi', this one is also very good and very close to the previous one, so if there is no available table in the previous one you can go here.
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d1819615-Reviews-Dioskouri_Cafe_Tavern-Athens_Attica.html
'Bairaktaris', most tourists prefer this place because it is in a very central place and there are many tables that you can sit outdoors. The food is decent and the have also singers and dancers sometimes (I don't know the timings though).
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d1045578-Reviews-Bairaktaris_Taverna-Athens_Attica.html
'O Tzitzikas ki o Mermigkas', really good food. It is not that much the taverna style, check the menu before so you will be sure!
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d799151-Reviews-Tzitzikas_kai_Mermigas-Athens_Attica.html
'O atlantikos', this one has only seafood. If you like seafood, this one is the best! Very good quality in very good price!
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d7176555-Reviews-Atlantikos-Athens_Attica.html
      By the beach:
'Edem' it is accessible by tram, you sit right by the waves and the food is really good (only seafood). It is also kind of close to the 'Bolivar' beach.
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d1478362-Reviews-Edem-Athens_Attica.html
'Kalos Gyalos Porto Rafti' is the second taverna in the video. Amazing seafood with a great view! It is in the same area as the beach 'Porto Rafti Panorama beach' and it is accessible only by car! It is worth it though! It is 20 minutes from Athens Airport.

      True Greek Experience:
'Pasifai' in Glyfada area. I have been going to this place for years, for any special occasion, birthdays, friends visiting from abroad and I can tell you this is the best food! It is not your typical touristic taverna as you know it with gyros and tzatziki. This one is traditional from the island of Crete where everything is two times better than the rest of Greece! You will feel like you are invited in someone's house and they are treating you!
      www.tripadvisor.com.gr/Restaurant_Review-g562630-d7940377-Reviews-Pasifai-Glyfada_Attica.html
      Shopping:
'Ermou street' in the city centre where is the main shopping street in Athens. Very close to that you can find 'Voukourestiou street' where the boitiques are.
Also, in Glyfada area - where the beach and the 'Pasifai' taverna there are many shops that you can find everything. Main shopping street is Aggelou Metaxa street but you can find amazing shops in every corner!
My suggestions cover a wide variety of options and also budget, but if you want something more specific let me know!
I hope you have an amazing time when you visit Greece! I would love to when you visit any of these places if you could share with me your experience!

Thank you very much for your kind words! I am glad you like it!
You can search both beaches on google maps:
Day 1: 'Kavouri Beach' the exact location is in front of the kavouri beach playground
Day 2: 'Porto Rafti Panorama Beach'
Let me know if you need anything else! I hope you have an amazing time too!

Hi Elena, can you tell me the name of the part of Athens which you are showing and the beaches? I was in Athen two weeks and I went to vouliagmeni and voula beaches. Good choice?

Hi Huseyin, Vouliagmeni and Voula are very nice too!
In fact the first beach that is shown is in Vouliagmeni area and is called Kavouri Beach.
The second beach is in Porto Rafti area, which is close to the airport. If you are still in Athens you should go there, it is very beautiful!
If you need more recommendations let me know!

@@huseyin7916 Thank you very much for your kind words! Beach is nice until September, after that the water gets cold. So if you visit until then you can also explore, Varkiza area which I highly recommend, is close to Voula and Vouliagmeni as well. Also if you can move by car search 'Anavissos' 'Schinias' and 'Kape Sounio'. The first two, 'Anavissos' and 'Schinias' have beach bars but the last one 'Kape Sounio' is more adventurous, no umbrellas and you have to walk a little bit in order to find it. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know if there is anything else that you would like to know!
