On two different occasions I got several autographed cds for members of our forum. Once I got 60 and once I got 80. I paid for those cds up front when I was in France. If those cds had been damaged or lost or stolen on the way back to the U.S., I would have been out all that money. There were a couple of other occasions where I was able to get some cds for her fans. I've always sold these cds at cost and I'm sure I lost money in the process. I've donated thousands of dollars over the years towards the expense of keeping our forum going. We have no ads. I make no money. I don't even own the server. In most of the recent years, I've been the only one who's donated. Others have offered to contribute, but she has done so much for me over the years, I said I would continue to cover the costs myself. This year, we sent her a gift card for a few hundred euros for Maggy. When she married Gregoire, we sent them a very generous gift card. Several years ago there was a boy sick with cancer in Ajaccio. Alizee hand painted some toys to be auctioned off to raise money. I came up with the idea that instead of the forum bidding to buy the toys, we would match the winning bid of whoever bought them, thus doubling the amount collected. Our forum and me personally have donated to Inseme. Do you even know what Inseme is? Corsica does not have a hospital where people with advance stages of cancer can be treated, so they have to send them to Marseille on the mainland. So there is an additional expense of families who want to accompany their loved ones for lodging. Inseme was formed to buy an apartment near that hospital so those family members could now stay for free. Have you heard of Marie Do? You may have seen Alizee years ago wearing a tee shirt that said Marie Do on it. Well Marie Do is short for Marie-Dominique Versini. Marie Do was an employee of Air Corsica. She died of cancer at the age of 35 due to cancer. The Marie Do association was formed to raise money for cancer research so the pictures that you see Alizee wearing a Marie Do shirt was one of those events. We've also donated to that cause. During the recent and ongoing pandemic, I saw one of my favorite restaurants in Ajaccio (I've been there 4 times Ajaccio that is) was selling gift certificates for when they were allowed to reopen. I figured they probably wouldn't do this unless they needed some money now. So I bought over a 100 euros worth, three for Alizee, Gregoire and Annily and three for the three people who helped us get the gift card for Maggy. Just last week I saw the owners of that restaurant posted a link about a few students that were raising money for sick children. I donated a 100 euros. Now I in no way feel Alizee owes us a thing and that's how I felt when I went to the studio. I tried contacting them through Facebook before even going to Corsica to see if it was okay to stop by. Once I got there, I had the woman at the hotel call the studio to again ask them if it was okay to stop by and if it was, what would be a convenient time for them, but they didn't answer. So I made the decision to stop by and they were very nice to me. I caught them at a great time. She had some work to do behind the desk and agreed to sign some pictures.
