I am 100% in sync with you here. I really liked the first Kung Fu Panda, then the second one was one of the greatest martial arts films that I have ever seen. The third was a big let down, and I'm not planning to see this one.
Ahh come on, ppl dont give KFP3 enough credit. It gave us a dignitary villain and so far most powerful of the franchise, it protracts off the 2nd installment by follow through with Pos biological father, we saw more Pandas than just Po and Shifu, we see Po grow some more by becoming a teacher using Pandas talents as strengths, Po becomes a peak version of himself embodying the Dragon Warrior, awesome fight scenes and what would've been the perfect conclusion if KFP4 hadn't shown up 8 years later with no reason to exist than pandering cashgrab

I liked it, but it is easily the worst KFP for sure. The whole big city vibe with the chase scene made this movie kinda feel like a worse version of kfp2. Even the action scenes were much less interesting. Still, as someone who really likes the KFP world and characters, I still enjoyed this movie
The third one wasn't that great but it was decent. The problem is that by the end of the third one Po was a Kung Fu master above all others. What's left for him to achieve? And they're talking about making even more movies. They're trying to milk this franchise because Hollywood can't come up with anything original and good anymore so they just ruin existing movie franchises with their crap. Know when to stop and walk away.

Okay some people may not like it, but it's not megamind 2. Megamind 2 is awful and has no semblance of even being from the same series and looks like a mobile game. No matter what you think about this movie the visuals were great and were in line with the rest of the series.

They were both used to generate revenue with any effort besides the animation for king fu panda but even on the animation side it’s good but not the correct style even.

Hey Adam how you doing, I saw Kung Fu Panda 4 last night, and as somebody who has grew up with this franchise I personally think it’s in the middle for me because I don’t it’s as good as the previous three movies. What I did like about it was obviously Jack Black as Po, I thought the action was really good, but what I didn’t like was the Furious Five not showing up until the very end of the film. I give it 6/10

It’s funny how 2 years ago when The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish came out, many people on the internet were saying DreamWorks was making a comeback after having a string of average animated films like the Trolls films, The Boss Baby films and Spirit: Untamed and using it as an excuse to hate on Disney. Oh - what's that? NOW look - there’s are video released in hindsight of Kung Fu Panda 4’s release, discussing how DreamWorks is now “going downhill”. It really sure shows how many narrow-minded people on the internet will just automatically jump to the conclusion that a studio is returning back to its successful heights as in the old years, from just 2 frigging films, without considering the overall possible critical and financial outcome of the films following. Hilarious.
I haven't watched any of the Kung Fu panda movies, but I'm willing to bet the first one is the best one out of all four, kind of like with Shrek (though Shrek 2 wasn't half bad). I think sometimes it's better just to stop at the first movie and then turn the whole shebang into an animated series. I found that it worked for Tarzan, for Lion's King's Timon and Pumbaa and for Emperor's new groove pretty well and I have fond memories of me as a kid and pre-teen watching those. But maybe we also dodged a bullet they didn't do it because the lame SoCal school of animation serves the same art style in every project since Adventure time

I just came home from seeing this film; it was very disappointing. The star power and great animation were the only things keeping it from being straight-to-VOD. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one suffering! 😅

Ahhhh Aquafina WIKI states She rose to prominence in 2012 when her rap song "My Vag" became popular on UA-cam. Yup kid friendly a shoe in for all those kids movies. Oh I just listened to the song dear God where's the ear bleach. She must come with the ESG DIE whatever bucks.
I watched it dubbed in Spain so I skipped Awkwafina. I did like her character. At the same time there is not a real reason to have her kinda replacing the Furious Five. The movie is probably the worst of the franchise but probably not so much different in quality to the third. It was entertaining and decent and I will still watch the sequels if they don’t go much worse but probably the biggest flaw was the direction. Some of the concepts for the action scenes were good and I didn’t dislike the villain or Zhen but visually it’s not as memorable. It is well done but I didn’t find it as visually exciting as the others. The lack of 2d scenes is also a let down. That was a cool thing in the first two movies that they don’t use now. And yeah, I know right now when you have Spiderverse and things like that it’s not such a novelty but still it gave some personality to the franchise.
Unfortunately you are correct, this wasn't such a great movie at all. I don't mind Aquafina, but I really only saw her in The Bad Guys. IDK this was just not a good movie. I saw it once, never again. Few okay parts, but not worth a see. Just okay at best.

I have a theory on awkwafina... Her beinf annoying stems from 2 separate but generally related reasons. 1) her voice is really annoying and in that same vein extremely unique and thus makes it feel like she is clearly in a film and possibly even out of place. And 2) she is the same character in every film, an annoying character that you just have to despise because it feels shoe-horned in in order to accommodate her. Legend of the ten ring seems to be a great example. 90% of her in that is random cringe jokes shoe-horning into serious scenes to culminate in HER being the victor over the big bad... This i think leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy where she spends next to zero effort in voice acting and to a lesser extent acting because of the similarities and that hatred channeled to her characters rubs off on her. She really does need to find a different profession though. It doesn't seem like she is ever a good addition to a film especially since it seems like she loves the spotlight in the films though that could just be bad writing. But believe it or not she is the ONE actor in Hollywood i just dont like. I can handle every other actor but seeing her in a role just removes all will at seeing a movie.
I enjoyed the film for what it was, since this weekend there was nothing worth watching but I needed a reset after Midterms. Adam is 100% spot on his review, awkwafina is the weakest part of the film. For such an important character in this entry they needed a more talented voice actor who could deliver the drama. I watched it with my sister and our mutual friend, we got the fleece johnson reference and ball out laughing on that joke. Like Adam I was initially worried when I realized they wrote out the furious 5 and the film felt empty without Grand Master Oogway and Master Shifu. The comedy was definitely hit and miss. But, the plots villain was by far the weakest and less interesting of the 4 films, if your not a fan i suggest a pass and if your a fan come watch it with low expectations. C rating

I haven’t watched the movie yet but the clips I’ve seen felt odd. Shen and Kai felt so awkward just standing around and not talking. No furious 5 was a big let down for me. Tai Lung fight scene with the henchmen was awesome but too short. Wasted potential over all. If anyone can explain to me why Tai Lung and the other villains wanted to go back to the spirit realm it is appreciated. I don’t care about spoilers.

I adore Kung Fu Panda with all my heart, but in my opinion- this movie was a huge disrespect to the ones before it. The second I saw the "animation style" - and millennial humor, I knew it'd be bad. Kung Fu Panda 2 is my absolute favorite movie in all of the trilogy. I've watched it so many times- listen to their incredible score almost every day. The visuals weren't ``over exagerated``, it was the perfect balance between amazing graphics, and REALISTIC lighting. Now let's get to Po, the way he acted felt so much more realistic. At times he was silly, but when the serious times came- he was SERIOUS! It seems like in the 3rd film- and now the 4th, they try to make him ``silly and goofy `` all the time. Po in the 1st and 2nd film had such a lovable personality, he had so much EMOTION, his facial expressions weren't over the top either. And I feel as if the characters actually had ``mass`` - like they were actually there. Also like, can we treat the villians seriously like we did in the first two films? They treated Kai like he was a joke- he had a lot of potential to be an INCREDIBLE villian! Especially with his theme song. The lighting, backrounds, ESPECIALLY THE STORY, and the overall design of the movie was a perfect balance of everything. In a way, ( Hopefully this makes sense ) - when I watched Po in the first two movies, I heard PO. I didn't hear Jack Black. But now, all I hear is Jack Black TRYING to be Po. It's just not the same anymore. The voice acting did not feel natural at all in the 4th- you could tell they were reading a script. And Lord Shen, the darker tone to the film made it just THAT good. He had such a personal relation to Po- which made him all the more terrifying. I don't think this movie is horrible, it's just not up to par with the 1st, 2nd, and even the 3rd.

nothing new, a chinese corporation purchased dreamworks before kung fu panda 3 wqas done, the same one that sued dreamworks with the first movie because they where "having cultural appropiation" because china is china and you cannot use china for nothing creative apparently. they lost the lawsuit so purchased dreamworks after the second movie. from then on they have done whatever they can to thrash the franchise. a bad tv show. a netflix show where he is a wash out kung fu master (this after the events of the third movie) is pretty much a drunk homeless panda in the panda village (its the only character from the movies, no furious five or master shifu or po's parents) then 4 panda kids that like to skip school, steal destroy public property and disrespect their elders (they trash talk to their grandma and steal from her) in the night they go to a secret forbidden cave, to steal of course, and get each a magical colored stone that in the night time, they pretty much become power rangers, in the process releasing 10 evil gods that each in the night time can END THE LIFE ON THE PLANET at will. Po discover them in a drunken night, and train them so they can capture the 10 evil gods back in the cave in order to restore the magical seals (the colores stones) to save the world. lasted i think 3 seasons of 10 episodes and was awful garbage. so much its not even cannon once netflix cancelled it they just wiped it out from existance.
I actually loved the visuals. Beautiful animation, cool scenes and playing around with colors, shots, and a really cool scene where Po is in that city smelling a bunch of yummy foods. Disappointing plots though. I love the kung fu panda series and I feel offended this is what they give their fans. The chameleon could have been amazing. Like imagine this, if they don't want the furious five to be in it for whatever reasons, maybe have the chameleon shapeshift as shifu and makeup this story about how the five are on separate missions but in reality kidnapped them and shifu to learn their Kung fu. Not a perfect concept but better with potential, and develop po's character more instead of changing his title. I also hate the idea of getting a new dragon warrior ugh
Why do all the new replacement characters have to be female? Is Aquafina supposed to be the female equivalent to Robin Williams? I get that she has a unique voice but that's it, unlike other actors before her that could incorporate there unique voice into a range of characters. Aquafina just does a range of characters but all with the same voice and they lack substance because of it soon as I herd her voice I immediately disliked her character because I can't get the image of the voice actor out of my head and picture her the whole time... heck it's like there isn't even another character there is just Pho and Aquafina. She needs to take notes from Jack who has a unique voice but look at the difference in Pho and Bowser same actor but actually tries to play different characters with his voice!!!

Ahhhh Aquafina WIKI states She rose to prominence in 2012 when her rap song "My Vag" became popular on UA-cam. Yup kid friendly a shoe in for all those kids movies. Oh I just listened to the song dear God where's the ear bleach. She must come with the ESG DIE whatever bucks.
I watched it dubbed in Spain so I skipped Awkwafina. I did like her character. At the same time there is not a real reason to have her kinda replacing the Furious Five. The movie is probably the worst of the franchise but probably not so much different in quality to the third. It was entertaining and decent and I will still watch the sequels if they don’t go much worse but probably the biggest flaw was the direction. Some of the concepts for the action scenes were good and I didn’t dislike the villain or Zhen but visually it’s not as memorable. It is well done but I didn’t find it as visually exciting as the others. The lack of 2d scenes is also a let down. That was a cool thing in the first two movies that they don’t use now. And yeah, I know right now when you have Spiderverse and things like that it’s not such a novelty but still it gave some personality to the franchise.
Unfortunately this is what I expected. I watch it tomorrow with some buddies. Hopefully we enjoy it
Unfortunately you are correct, this wasn't such a great movie at all. I don't mind Aquafina, but I really only saw her in The Bad Guys. IDK this was just not a good movie. I saw it once, never again. Few okay parts, but not worth a see. Just okay at best.

I remember when Dreamworks was a threat to disney,they had creativity and attitude and even though the execution was usually flawed you always appreciated there daring.they gave us instant classics,but now with the exception of puss in boots 2 all they gave us is half-assed animated sloppy seconds.

Madagascar? How to Train Your Dragon? Puss in Boots 2?? Dreamworks is hit or miss at the very least. sometimes they put out very good animated films, and at the same time put out mediocre ones. just say you have a hate boner for Dreamworks, cuz them being "never good" is just straight up cap.

I have a theory on awkwafina... Her beinf annoying stems from 2 separate but generally related reasons. 1) her voice is really annoying and in that same vein extremely unique and thus makes it feel like she is clearly in a film and possibly even out of place. And 2) she is the same character in every film, an annoying character that you just have to despise because it feels shoe-horned in in order to accommodate her. Legend of the ten ring seems to be a great example. 90% of her in that is random cringe jokes shoe-horning into serious scenes to culminate in HER being the victor over the big bad... This i think leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy where she spends next to zero effort in voice acting and to a lesser extent acting because of the similarities and that hatred channeled to her characters rubs off on her. She really does need to find a different profession though. It doesn't seem like she is ever a good addition to a film especially since it seems like she loves the spotlight in the films though that could just be bad writing. But believe it or not she is the ONE actor in Hollywood i just dont like. I can handle every other actor but seeing her in a role just removes all will at seeing a movie.
I enjoyed the film for what it was, since this weekend there was nothing worth watching but I needed a reset after Midterms. Adam is 100% spot on his review, awkwafina is the weakest part of the film. For such an important character in this entry they needed a more talented voice actor who could deliver the drama. I watched it with my sister and our mutual friend, we got the fleece johnson reference and ball out laughing on that joke. Like Adam I was initially worried when I realized they wrote out the furious 5 and the film felt empty without Grand Master Oogway and Master Shifu. The comedy was definitely hit and miss. But, the plots villain was by far the weakest and less interesting of the 4 films, if your not a fan i suggest a pass and if your a fan come watch it with low expectations. C rating

Can we give Maya Erskine Awkwafina’s roles going forward… she’s a much better voice actress (Blue Eye Samurai) and a much more believable as a love interest (Mr. & Mrs. Smith)
I haven’t watched the movie yet but the clips I’ve seen felt odd. Shen and Kai felt so awkward just standing around and not talking. No furious 5 was a big let down for me. Tai Lung fight scene with the henchmen was awesome but too short. Wasted potential over all. If anyone can explain to me why Tai Lung and the other villains wanted to go back to the spirit realm it is appreciated. I don’t care about spoilers.
As a Bigger fan of Kung fu panda I'm probably will skip this one mostly because it's not actually a direct Sequel to the first 3 Film's which is kind of stupid when you think about it because this one is more Following a netflix Kung fu panda show but I can't remember the name of it also The original cast that do The furious five won't be in kung fu panda 4 and lastly the storyline just sounds not worth for me NOPE

Just watched the film and yes they destroyed this legendary franchise. My childhood. The fox (aquafina) ruined it.
I adore Kung Fu Panda with all my heart, but in my opinion- this movie was a huge disrespect to the ones before it. The second I saw the "animation style" - and millennial humor, I knew it'd be bad. Kung Fu Panda 2 is my absolute favorite movie in all of the trilogy. I've watched it so many times- listen to their incredible score almost every day. The visuals weren't ``over exagerated``, it was the perfect balance between amazing graphics, and REALISTIC lighting.
Now let's get to Po, the way he acted felt so much more realistic. At times he was silly, but when the serious times came- he was SERIOUS!
It seems like in the 3rd film- and now the 4th, they try to make him ``silly and goofy `` all the time. Po in the 1st and 2nd film had such a lovable personality, he had so much EMOTION, his facial expressions weren't over the top either. And I feel as if the characters actually had ``mass`` - like they were actually there. Also like, can we treat the villians seriously like we did in the first two films? They treated Kai like he was a joke- he had a lot of potential to be an INCREDIBLE villian! Especially with his theme song.
The lighting, backrounds, ESPECIALLY THE STORY, and the overall design of the movie was a perfect balance of everything.
In a way, ( Hopefully this makes sense ) - when I watched Po in the first two movies, I heard PO. I didn't hear Jack Black. But now, all I hear is Jack Black TRYING to be Po. It's just not the same anymore. The voice acting did not feel natural at all in the 4th- you could tell they were reading a script.
And Lord Shen, the darker tone to the film made it just THAT good. He had such a personal relation to Po- which made him all the more terrifying. I don't think this movie is horrible, it's just not up to par with the 1st, 2nd, and even the 3rd.

You're not wrong there. There's even a scene where children sing, "Violence makes our tummys tingle!" That's disgusting to hear honestly. It's one scene but doesn't feel at home in here.

It’s exhausting how they keep casting Awkwafina
nothing new, a chinese corporation purchased dreamworks before kung fu panda 3 wqas done, the same one that sued dreamworks with the first movie because they where "having cultural appropiation" because china is china and you cannot use china for nothing creative apparently. they lost the lawsuit so purchased dreamworks after the second movie. from then on they have done whatever they can to thrash the franchise. a bad tv show. a netflix show where he is a wash out kung fu master (this after the events of the third movie) is pretty much a drunk homeless panda in the panda village (its the only character from the movies, no furious five or master shifu or po's parents) then 4 panda kids that like to skip school, steal destroy public property and disrespect their elders (they trash talk to their grandma and steal from her) in the night they go to a secret forbidden cave, to steal of course, and get each a magical colored stone that in the night time, they pretty much become power rangers, in the process releasing 10 evil gods that each in the night time can END THE LIFE ON THE PLANET at will. Po discover them in a drunken night, and train them so they can capture the 10 evil gods back in the cave in order to restore the magical seals (the colores stones) to save the world. lasted i think 3 seasons of 10 episodes and was awful garbage. so much its not even cannon once netflix cancelled it they just wiped it out from existance.
I actually loved the visuals. Beautiful animation, cool scenes and playing around with colors, shots, and a really cool scene where Po is in that city smelling a bunch of yummy foods. Disappointing plots though. I love the kung fu panda series and I feel offended this is what they give their fans. The chameleon could have been amazing. Like imagine this, if they don't want the furious five to be in it for whatever reasons, maybe have the chameleon shapeshift as shifu and makeup this story about how the five are on separate missions but in reality kidnapped them and shifu to learn their Kung fu. Not a perfect concept but better with potential, and develop po's character more instead of changing his title. I also hate the idea of getting a new dragon warrior ugh
Why do all the new replacement characters have to be female? Is Aquafina supposed to be the female equivalent to Robin Williams? I get that she has a unique voice but that's it, unlike other actors before her that could incorporate there unique voice into a range of characters. Aquafina just does a range of characters but all with the same voice and they lack substance because of it soon as I herd her voice I immediately disliked her character because I can't get the image of the voice actor out of my head and picture her the whole time... heck it's like there isn't even another character there is just Pho and Aquafina. She needs to take notes from Jack who has a unique voice but look at the difference in Pho and Bowser same actor but actually tries to play different characters with his voice!!!
Look, I like some Disney movies, and I'd consider myself a Disney fan, but I'm no Disney shill. I can admit when they do wrong, and they have done a lot of wrong lately.

I have to disagree with you Adam on Akwa. I think she’s a great energetic actress. She doesn’t just play the comic relief you should see her in “The Farewell” she can play a serious role too.
So I guess Kung fu panda 3 didn’t actually happen, by this movies logic. Just Po getting a staff. They just gotta keep riding the backs of major ip movies just to give us new bullsht characters nobody cares about. Thats my only problem. We couldn’t get a more darker furious five movie? And my same feelings about Aquafina.
