Very cool technology. I can see why those that use it like it so much. I couldn't help but notice that they didn't talk about the electricity consumption. So much for the "carbon footprint".

Is there any available tutorials on how to build a simple laser cleaner? I am a mechanical engineering student, and I happen to think of using this as my future thesis project.

I've seen this used to remove paint.. How would would this laser work on removing lead based paints, and would it pass strict government tests for removing lead paint?

That would have more to do with your collection methods for the vapors you create.

Question - is the cleaning that P-Laser products provide suitable for immediate repainting of a surface, or in that application, do other traditional solvent- or detergent-based prep methods need to occur?

What kind of laser diode did you use that won't hurt human skin but able to remove rust? Does a regular laser diode will do? I want a smaller size of that thing maybe I can made one like pen type/solder type... 1:50 is it better than sandblasting? Greatest invention: P-Laser and 3D Printer...
