That's the thing when your young you kinda forget the language you grew up with, I remember moving to the province at first grade and I adopted pretty quickly so I spoke the dialect and I forgot some of my first language so when I came back I literally forgot simple everyday things and then after a few years I forgot the dialect completely

Lol i use cantones to comunicate with my family and i use mandarin for classes, i speak English at school and i speak spanish with my friends xd I sometimes need to load for a few mins on what i want to say and search it up in my language dictionary xd
my dad is hokkien and my mom cantonese but they only ever speak to me and my sis in cantonese, mandarin and english. after growing up, me and my sis realised it would have been so cool if our father spoke to us in hokkien so we would be fluent in it ;-; and we had to learn another language that is compulsory in school, bahasa melayu, so i speak a total of 4 languages although cantonese and mandarin are kind of in the same circle xD

I'm somehow grateful that here in my country Philippines tho Filipino is our National language, we use English as mode of instruction in schools and work place. So basically I can speak English and Filipino but my mother tongue is bisaya since I'm from Davao region. So its 2 languages and 1 dialect. I am trying to learn hangul slowly but surely so next time I won't have to wait for eng subs.
