It does not, the counterbalanced engine came to KTM on the 2017 KTM 250/300 XCW engines, this engine is based on the older architecture. Vibration is not crazy though.
It’s great for my old man. It might honestly be a bit spicy for a true beginner with the pipe and air box mod (drilling a bunch of holes in the air filter case). SmartCarb sends a richer rod for that. Honestly, I’m kinda kicking myself for not getting my dad a KTM Freeride electric or surron electric to start out on so he could just get a feel for dirt riding on milder power with no maintenance.
@@SourceADVi ended up getting a 250r. You’re right it’s pretty powerful, revs out very quickly though. My girlfriend has some experience, she’ll definitely have to grow into this bike power wise- fit is great. I have a smart carb sc2 as well. Do you still run 80:1?
In the spring I want to put on jd jetting to the serial carburetor. I have modifications to the air filter housing, Excel takasago black wheels with mousse, PHDS handlebar mount, lion battery, led light. For this I plan to modify the rear brake, there is almost a "matching" caliper from ali - I will try to install it and for that a master cylinder from exc model. All the time I am looking and hunting for scalvini, 7-8 HP is a lot, do you think it is worth it? Greetings!
Smart carb said opening up the Airbox and then going richer is what actually drives most of the power. It’s definitely a different bike with a lot more umfff
We're you able to run the inline filter that's included with the smartcarb? I just installed one on my Freeride and the fuel line is too short to the petcock to fit the in line filter. Also, when I open the choke it interferes with the petcock valve. Same issue on yours?
I picked up a right angle fuel filter that worked better and just shaved a little bit of the choke knob off on one side with a box cutter to get better clearance. Do yourself a favor and just pull the pipe off if you need to do clicker adjustments versus pulling the tank off.
@@SourceADVWhat did you set the clicker to on your SC? Mine came at 85 from full rich. I've been messing with it, but not finding the sweet spot. I tried 95 and 105. What did you settle on?

I'm having a hard time finding info on whether the freeride has a counterbalanced engine or not.

How’s it been going with the bike? I’m thinking about picking one up for my girlfriend so hopefully it’s reliable enough for a beginner

@tobytwiss nice! Yeah man, it’s got some good low mid, fun bike. Yeah still 80:1, smartcarb guys confirmed that. Cheers!

Nice man! Sounds like a cool build!

@mskahn2002 I’m still getting it 100% dialed but I have gone a lot leaner, I think like 110+ or so and 1-2+ turns in on the idle screw
@@SourceADV Any updates on where you settled the clickers on the SC? Mine is still not dialed in.
@@mskahn2002 went a few clicks richer to dial in the hanging idle, then further in on the idle screw
Good video bro, We'd love to collaborate with you on a product review. How can we connect with you?
Is it bad that my 125 sound like this bike 😭
