What about the electronic parking break ? Didnt this crush the inside of it ?
You don't need a special tool to compress the piston.. Save the $25 - $30 bucks and use a C-Clamp and one of the old pads against the piston to compress te=he piston... I have been doing it this way for years..
Next time I’m ur videos makes sure you put the sizes for other people when so they can do them quicker
Great job. I'm doing my rear brakes right now. You didn't mention using brake grease?
That’s cuz this guy isn’t a tech and has no idea what he’s really doing. He just understands the surface of things, then makes a how to video incorrectly…i see these jobs come in the shop all the time. Customer states “brake noise” or “brake vibration”…then when I tear into it, there’s no grease half the time…or incorrectly installed hardware. There’s too many hack jobs out there informing people incorrectly.
It happens in shops too. I have took my car for a brake job. They use the old hardware, no grease. The squeaking sound was still there but louder. They told me it was just in between the brakes. Ride it for a couple of days and the noise will stop. That didn't make since. I took it somewhere else they changed the hardware, and greased it. Squeak was gone. There's half ass mechanics in shops too. I thank him for the effort, and the things he miss, I'm quite sure he do not our input Instead of criticizing him. I'm glad you're thorough being a mechanic working at shop or have your own shop. It's a lot of mechanics that work at these shop just for the money and sxrew the customers over.
Pad slapping is a horrible idea. Always do your rotors with fresh pads. Nobody really even turns rotors for a reason. It’s not 1970. You can’t get away with it most of the time anymore.
I feel like you could of just taken out the bottom screw and tilted it upward
thank you ! looks like most brake jobs I have done but with new cars I never know what changes so it helped me , and you are quick to the point and explain things well
