Thank you for the video, I am done with buying clothes at our shops in Johannesburg. I have decided to make my own clothes. A new hobby which I took on, so I am retired so I decided to invest in buying sewing machines. Before that is many years ago, we have the clothes in our local shops today, the Chinese have messed up, with their cheap useless clothes. You buy something now, with the cheapest materials. A few months down the line, it is no more. That forced me to start learning how to sew. You can learn anything on U-tube. There new possibilities. I have retired, but I am learning something new.
Lovely to here from you. My mom is also retired and she makes most of her clothes too. I had the pleasure of watching her make a dress from scratch just this past weekend.
R12000 is around $650 not $6500. customs is crazy business these days. I normally buy electronics and lights, they used to deliver (buffalo) to my place and no customs charges. Now everything goes via post office which makes things very slow to be delivered. even if i buy something less than R25 I have to pay minimum customs R38 which is a rip off. We dont have a choice as the government is screwing us so we dont buy outside thou some of the things are not here locally. if I buy something for around R500 I have to part ways with almost R200 customs tax.
The size thing for me is crazy lol 😂😂😂i use to wear 28 now for something to fit nice and comfortable, i have to get 32-34 depending on the material and design, custlms have changed my view of buying from all these shops, theres things im liking on Temu and Shein mara ayi, might as well go to Small street nje
I was also screwed over. If UA-cam was not going to censor me, this comment would be littered with all manner of invectives. Body parts referencing - type of insults 😡😡😡. Buying clothes from overseas is an unmitigated disaster. Still cannot bring myself to wear the clothes, 8 months later.
Hayi ibiyi shopping spree sana! This is what I always say kwaba bantu that buy ko Shein for thousands and thousands and then have to spend thousands on shipping, why not buy good quality clothes locally. But I guess the enjoy the large quantities of clothes/accessories that Shein provides.

I find the whole process to be just too much. The costs are too high. Yet there are things that are just not sold in SA

I almost dropped from shopping 🤣. I am also convinced it's better to have fewer items than are of good quality
So sorry sana, next time inbox me I live in Europe. I can buy something for you.🥰
Wow thank you
