Hello. Thank you for watching!🙂 Yes, usually when I repot cactus I wash and trim their roots, and airdry them for 5-7 days. I’ll be making a video about this soon when I repot some of my cactus.
Regardless of potted or uprooted, I always wash and trim the roots. My rule of thumb is if it’s not my soilmix eventhough the soilmix is gritty, I’ll still use my soilmix. Root trimming when repotting cactus will remove old roits and will encourage growth of new roots which can absorb nutrients efficiently compared sa old roots.

What should i do when ASTRO turns mushy? The top center got so soft and a bit sunken. When i uprooted for airdrying, i found that the same goes at the base at the side of the roots. Can i still revive it?

Be Motivated If bagong repot lang, saktong mabasa lang ‘yung soilmix. After a month or two doon ako mag-start na magwater hanggang tumulo ‘yung tubig sa drainage hole. Madalas din po nilalagyan ko ng plant and root hormone ‘yung pandilig ko na water kapag bagong pot. I use Siam Grow, TRex B1, okaya Hormex po.
I use a slow release fertilizer. The nutrients are slowly released in the soilmix in a course of time. I've been using this for the past years and my cacti are okay.

Ilang taon na po yang ganyang astro?..yung nabili ko ang tagal na sakin pero d pa rin lumalaki
Hindi na po siya need ibabad sa dethane or rooting hormone?

You're using a 14-14-14 NPK fertilizer, which is a lot of nitrogen. Generally too much nitrogen is considered to be a bad thing for cacti..
I use a slow release fertilizer. The nutrients are slowly released in the soilmix in a course of time. I've been using this for the past years and my cacti are okay.
