I ordered MS260 AM clutch springs because of this video, I’m in MN so I usually buy from Sawagain. Can’t wait to get them. Thank you, I am a throttle blipper.
Just to report back, the clutch spring tip is fantastic and I am absolutely loving it. Coupled with a high speed adjustable carb and heavy muffler mod I am a throttle blipping limb thrashing animal.
I love my stihl saws. My little ms250 cuts the bulk of my firewood without ever giving me trouble. My saws are all stock,other than muffler mods and cut several cord of oak and maple every year. I've been thinkin of buying a ms400c or ms462 to replace my aging ms441c, but every time getting to thinkin about it I just cant justify the cost.
I had the exact same experience with a Red Barn piston for an Echo 351VL resto job I did recently. The fit was no where near what the oem unit was and I did not care for the casting job on the underside. Drop it down into the bore on the bench with no rings, and the thing fell like a rock. I did the same thing with the oem piston and it built up compression after it passed the exhaust port. The Red piston was a rattler compared to the (used) oem part.

@@CharlesBrisco I ordered a cross proformance pop up for a ms390 and wasn't happy with it at all, just like yours very heavy bad timing and very soft . And where the piston was notched out for the transfers it was too narrow . Just wast very happy about it

Charles, I looked for it in the vids but couldn't find... What did you set the Transfers at? Farmertec cylinder I have is timing at Intake 84 exhaust 98 Transfers 129....I plan to raise 5 degrees to 124 and maybe even higher to 120 after testing. Just wondering where u set yours

What was your final numbers you guess our numbers you would recommend for a ms250

What carburetor did you use?
Does a 170 cover need modification to change out the stupid flip cap I have on my ms250c?
Was that a cross proformance piston from red barn?

660 seem to run good 124 to120 for me at least
