My family and I are from Guam and we just recently relocated to the mainland 2 weeks ago. My other half put on the 2022 liberation on UA-cam for us to watch (bcus we miss our home) and this is one of the songs that stood out bcus I used to listen to it when I was young 🥹 memories oh sweet memories 😌 pls don’t ever take this down, I will always come bck to this page for this certain song 🤎🤎🤎
My brother in Oregon just sent me this music (I'm in Washington State) on UA-cam. It sounds great!! We're both from hagat (Agat/ Santa Rita). We lived in Agat but Grandma is in Santa Rita. For all of you that know, Grandma raised us most of the time. 😂
Hafa adai todus hamyo! Guahu si Chris Kaipat! Thank you all for the comments, I am the one singing on this track, as well as the instruments. My bruddah, the late, who I miss so, Soke, was back up on this track. Don't forget my other Mixed Plate originals, Ulu, Pete, and Mila, along with Soke and I who released that album. Let me explain the languages...Chamorro, Carolinian (my roots), along with a Polynesian influence. Thanks for all your positive vibes, continue to support local music!
Yo soy Mexicano y escuche esta cansion que en verdad no se lo que dice por que solo entiendo español pero el ritmo me encanta y trato de cantar siertas frases conosi un hombre de Hawaii el la puso y me encanto
I love these mixtures of Pacific Island music and rhythm. I hear carolinian, chamorro, Samoan and still trying to figure the first version, was that Tahitian? A lil Hawaiian I hear too. Miss the islands oh so much!!!! Keep up the beautiful Pacific island music guys. You do rock!!!!!!!
love this song and thanks for the upload. 411 to some questions in bottom: these people are a carolinian group who did a medley of their favorite pacific songs: from samoa to saipan (chamorro and carolinian).
Then the title should be Island mix up medley not Chamorro mix up medley. And the Guam seal should be replaced by an island beach picture. I do like the medley because I am from the island.
I have Samoan Chamorro relatives who mixes Samoan beats with Chamorro lyrics. That's the beauty of the islands. If you're going to ask why chamorros act samoan, then asks yourself why there are mixed islanders out there. It's hard to find a 100% pure breed. If we can mix our races and cultures, then why not mix our songs and just enjoy it? Pro diversity works better these days.
