I´ve heard a plugin coder talk about clipping that there´s literally only one way to code it, ergo every clipper is the same (except oversampling and different curves obviously).
same, as i understand it clipping is clipping. no way for one to be better than the other other than UI & honestly Fire the Clip is probs has a better UI than is IMO
Maybe that's just about personal taste, but I don't like drums distorted like that. For me, ugly, annoying, flabby, and irritating. It's hilarious that this guy showers praise on its own products as if the drums we heard weren't being destroyed (in the only sense for those who understand what that word means). ...Okay, I can make it easier, those drums are been ruined. :-))) A perfect case of "The King's New Clothes"...

@@marceloribeirosimoes8959 Oh, that's my kind of music! I think saturation can get you halfway to a decent kick drum sound, but of course it's much more to it. It's the sample you use, the pitch, the envelope / decay and so on. I'm currently doing some sound design for a drum pack that I will maybe release to the public at some point in the future (not under this profile, this here is just an alias for browsing UA-cam) and its amazing to see how many techniques there are to try. The disco and early hiphop era mostly used live drums or drum machines like the Linn Drum. If you listen to some of the raw sounds today they sound not too exciting, but the groove and outboard processing made these drums what they are.
Hard to justify over something like Standard Clip without gain compensation, in/out linking, or even the ability to lower the threshold instead of boosting the input. Level matching seems like it would be a pain.
Its the last clipper you'll ever need ? Since Decap is a FL user , is this clipper based on that hard to get sound like the stock clipper everyone is tripping about in FL ? Now Orange Clip has drop now I want to compare and I would think Decap would have a similar sound but I am just a noob
Never trust someone that show off a pluck... and when he can't get the sound right with hard clip he adjust the highs with a built in EQ wtf ? I thought you was showing of the plugin ? why do you adjust built in EQ ?? 1:47
Going to try this, but is anyone annoyed with plugins that unnecessarily affect your gain staging?? Why not just lower the ceiling instead of driving gain into a fixed threshold? Or at least automatically offset the output to make up for the increased gain. So easy to implement, so convenient to use, I don't know why this isn't a feature.
CLIP TO ZERO…I’m grabbing this just bc of low cpu usage been using standard clip for clip to zero method but I think this will be great for clip to zero mixing method
Would have liked a few more options. HQ instead of setting x2, x4, x8, x16 oversampling, adding transient enhancement. That I would pay for. I use K-Clip or Eventide's clippers and the latter is a CPU clipper. But K-Clip sounds so good because of it's insane oversampling.

Had to grab it at only $15 I use clipping methods on drums, zero or low latency is a must. Also can’t be too cpu heavy because you wanna use it on multiple tracks, this has low cpu usage. Dope plugin a Eq filter like on the knock plugin Would be fire
There're a lot of different clippers that help with perceived loudness, but they all sound different. I like having KNOCK as a Swiss-Army knife at my disposal.
@@michaelduff2382 i admit i wrote that before watching lol . but he didnt really show the 1 to 1 comparison that well :/ would been nice to see the waves and even delta between the two to see how well the soft clipping works rather than a quick ear test

Why doesn't it have automatic gain compensation?
For people looking for a free option, MSaturator or Vennaudio FreeClip are good!
Some freeware alternatives for those low in budget:
airwindows - ADClip7
airwindows - Dirt
airwindows - Crystal
D16 - Frontier
Initial Audio - Initial Clipper
Apogee - Soft Limit
goat
Limiter?
FreeClip is another option...
...but for a good final result, not what we hear in this video.
Also kclip and freeclip. Freeclip has a ton of oversampling options that this doesn't too

DECAP has gainmatch on the full Knock plugin - this is just one module from that 👍
Yeah The Standarclip have more options, but The reality is that sounds exactly The same
when using the Clipper the level definitely goes up or past zero. maybe im doing it wrong?
hey im having the same issue, it seems like its not really clipping the signal just adding gain. Did you figure anything out?
this plugin must be the standalone plugin of mpc...🙏🙏
it has no soft clipper plugin...
This is my go to clipper. So far my favorite one out of all the ones I have. Good job bro!!!!
Also knock clipper very sattle and punchy and clean compare to diffrents clippers
If you already the KNOCK PLUGIN can you access to knock clipper vst ?
Yes they are exactly the same. In fact if you want just turn off the others and leave the clipper on.
