The reason why it would throw a fuel pressure sensor performance code is because of the amount oxygen that the up stream o2 sensors sees coming out of the engine. It then trys to add fuel to get the air to fuel ratio back to a 14.7:1 ( stoichiometric ratio) . When it keeps adding fuel and it can't get there. It will throw a system too lean and or fuel pressure sensor performance because it thinks the sensor could be inaccurate To were it could be experiencing a low fuel pressure condition . Most actual sensor circuit faults will have a circuit to high or circuit to low in the description of the DTC.
Great video and I like the clear explanation of how you made the diagnosis. I like this new OBDEleven scanner and it seems to come at a reasonable price (basic) for the beginner or DIYer. Keep up the good work.
great video.. when you look at data on that scan tool is there a way to see all the data without putting in the measure block values. and how do you get the measure value numbers and last of all how is the fuel pressure sensor fault related to the vacuum leak. is it cause system is lean and the fuel pressure is to low for the lean condition.. thanks for posting good content sir
What happened to fuel pressure sensor? Have you ever seen a FPS just fail and put out a single value? I'm working on a sprinter. Have a low fuel pressure fault and vehicle wouldn't run. I went through the whole fuel system and put on a remanded hpfp. When I turn on the key and crack an injector line, I have streaming out, looks like 15-20 psi. Is this suppose to happen? Then when I crank the engine I get 126 psi every time and that's is. Just turning the key on I get 63 then 94 psi.
Hé man quick question. I did Some checking and I wonder what are Good numbers for the value 1/2 at channel 032. And for value 1 at channel 033. I have 2.7% and -9% at 032 and 2% at 033.
great video as always... i have the obdeleven .. its quite good.. for the novice there are apps to purchase which involve buying credits..its an extra cost but makes things quite a lot easier..while not being mega expensive these apps are still an extra cost on top of purchasing the pro version... for the more experienced you can use the long coding ..in my opinion its worth the money.. the blue tooth can be a bit fiddley to pair but once set up mine has proved tobe quite reliable..help using the long coding for this is quite sparce and ull probably end up trying to search google or rely on the apps overall im pleased with mine..............
So let me get this straight here are you saying if it was a breather issue the fuel trim would go -25% do to you isolate the breather from the intake system? Anyway good video did you make the pcv hose adapter or vw/audi make one?
Great to see you again Tommy. Been so long you've grown a beard man.! like father time.! Great video of the new tool, like to see more of it. Wondering tho, can you see more pids at once.? kinda like being able to see both long and short at the same time because as you use different rpms they both change and would seem like a lot of shuttling back and forth to see them both for full trim numbers. Just my thought.. like I said, would like to see more of it. SO... next time don't take so long for another great vid..otherwise we might not be able to see your face anymore thru the additional hair from now till then. Lol Take care, Cheers
Hello, I have both a P2015 (intake manifold flap position sensor) and P119a fault. Is it likely that a split intake manifold has caused both fault codes?
Hey Tommy how u doing. I haven't seen the whole video but I already know it's going to be a good one. U are very knowledgeable. How much is the whole scan tool. I know u said the bluetooth is 100 bucks. Can u link some of the gdi videos u have. I just got the atg book of direct injection and air induction that just came out. I'm just reading and reading but it's helpful to see it live. Hope u know what I mean. I practice on known good cars but as u know snap on really doesn't have that many pids for these cars or its confusing and don't know if it's the low pressure or high pressure. Any suggestions u can give me on how to get better at diags. I'm on Paul danvers monthly subscription and learning so much. I see ur videos Erik o Keith ivan and wells tech videos and reading everyday even after work right after I get back from the gym. No days off for me. I make time for all my priorities. Thank u brother god bless
Thanks for the support Jason. Most of the videos I’ve done in gdi systems are fuel pressure related. When looking at data pids for fuel pressure high and low. The question would be does this veh have a high and low side fuel pressure sensor? Some systems have both, some only have high. The next thing would be does your scantool give you those data pids? Sometimes your looking for a data pid that doesn’t exist unless you have a factory scantool. I think pro package for obd eleven is around $100. You can use android phone or tablet. It has to be a certain version android. I don’t remember which.
Hey Tommy I'm really hoping to get your help on this. Stasis tuned 2.0 B7 w/ a K04 and big injectors. Mechanic replaced the BWT motor with a pull and it's been throwing a 2177 lean off idle and pulling 12 degrees timing. Replaced MAF twice, N80, HPFP LPFP Filter MAP... Everything except spark plugs and coils. Mechanic smoked the system twice and I checked from outside with propane. Just ordered Rail Fuel Sensor so we'll see. Any other ideas?
@@PositiveLeadDiagnostics Hey Tommy I need your help I have a 2009 audi a4 the pcv valve is passing oil to the intake maniful and I replaced twice and still the same problem you have any idea?
Nice. I looked at this a while back the last time I worked on a VW but haven't seen one for a while. I'd like it for the coding options alone. I tried the promo code on the OBDeleven website but the promo code doesn't work.

Great video! Do you think you could explain why a vacuum leak could cause a low fuel pressure code?
Great video and I like the clear explanation of how you made the diagnosis. I like this new OBDEleven scanner and it seems to come at a reasonable price (basic) for the beginner or DIYer. Keep up the good work.
Nice.. So much easier when you have the right tools...
Great to see you back....I too wondered where the fuel pressure sensor code came into it?
vacuum leak causing fuel pressure sensor code ??

Good. Diagnostic. Nice. Video. Amigo. Good. Escaner. Tool

Going to check out scan tool now.

Very good video, would be very nice if you do a video about that smoke machine and how it is builded
Thanks for everything
That's cool and I'm old fashioned. LOL great video Tommy hope you video some more.PEACE

Hi Tom, can I bring my Passat VR6 for diagnostic and repair?
Can't wait for part 2! 😉
Part 2, cracked plastic garbagey :))
Thank you Tommy. Appreciate your videos.
Interesting how you got a FP sensor code instead of a lean or under boost code for the air leak.
Great to see you again Tommy. Been so long you've grown a beard man.! like father time.!

Good job! Thanks for sharing! Btw to me this car sounds like a tdi on video..
great job Tommy ,

Is the manifold broken with a huge air leak?
Long time no see

Nice Vid, but i will stick to my VCDS.
When adding smoke like you did. Should my pcv valve be releasing air? I hear air leaking through the cap. Is this normal.
I’m no expert but maybe the pcv diaphragm is burst allowing air to flow through the breather hole at the top

My first thought is to check that rail pressure sensor

Some oil will get pulled through the pcv. What’s your actual problem? Lean faults or high idle?
what company make that adaptor

Thanks i enjoyed the video
Fantastic video

As a dyier i love my obd eleven for me it was worth the money i pay for it
sounds like a big vacuum leak to me, but we all know how camera audio is :)
no wonder why further in the video lol
