Really Amazing!!!another gem on Progressive 10".
Thank you for this precious gift!!
Enjoy !
Love this cover by Burt Goldblatt! Nice playing as well.
Progressiveレーベル、Burt Goldblattのジャケット、パウエルの影響が色濃いWallington 、おまけにBassとDrumsがパウエルの名演と同じメンバー、1951年の録音、全てにおいて素晴らしいアルバムですね。
So much BUD POWELL in Wallington's playing ! So good to hear. Wallington was in Dizzy's quintet in 1943-44, I heave read, And it shows.
I think "Twins" title might mean that he and Bud were blood brothers of music ?
An accomplished pianist who succumbed to the overwhelming influence of Bud Powell who recorded with the same rhythm section around the same time. We can literally trace elements of each tune back to Bud. Interesting nonetheless.
I am thinking same thing !
Techniquely it is a bit Bud with some occasional Tatumesque Art, yet the soul is pure Wallington...
