Saw these guys play an ATP event with Sonic Youth, Sonic Youth were the headliners but Shellac just blew the place away, best performance by a band i've ever seen.
i saw these guys play on a boat on the Mississippi river with a band called High Dependency Unit from Australia - it was awesome like you've never witnessed awesome
Every time I hear and/or see something by this band I am dumbfounded at how awesome the are. Shellac are like underground terrorists in these dismal times, for music and generally everything else, too.
I like it! They have the ability to experiment with repatitative sound, old and new comes together in this band. the repatitive meets te interactivel I like the drummer!!!!! The bassplayer is like a rails in tis song ;-)
There is no end of radio any more now that ShiceSquad is here. And there is no sin any more now that the Projekt Kotelett popes are here - all five of them.
You kind of missed. funny, they are definately a band with a black humour. Which once you tap into songs like Prayer to God and this really come into their own. Always give me a big beaming smile when I walk the dog.
you know its sad all these negative comments. Boring? i mean come on shellac sells records, do you? shellac sold tickets, did you? narrow minded people disrespect something pure and original as shellac, goes the same for anything with steve albini's name on it. get a life mofo's and maybe a sucessful career such as his....................... then post your very boring comments.
I hope whatever you do in work /college or whatever doesn't need those hardcore critical/analytical skills of yours! When you make something this good/ influential you might just get away with insulting this band. Until then, I suggest you go back to listening to something that matches your own level of creativity. The Cheeky Girls perhaps.....
@jonvanflan I think its garbage. What the hell is even going on in the video? A guy talking, a dude playing two chords repeatedly and a standing drummer who can't keep in sync with everyone else. This is a bunch of crap.
It’s criminal that Todd Trainor isn’t a house hold name like Dave Grohl, etc. Dude is legitimately one of the best drummers ever.
He kinda was for 30 minutes in 2007 when they interviewed his dog
Agreed on all accounts. I saw them live recently and they sounded so good It's somewhat awkward to write about it.
God...shellac just keep getting better and better.
The patience of the bassist: le mot juste
this is God's band

This isnt really what I would call a song as much as I would call it an experimental listening experience. (I fucking love Shellac by the way!)

wow, who would honestly pay to see this group? Shellac has to be one of the most repetitive, boring groups I've heard in a while.
