@@MrMoraleTop5 I actually played against teams like this in HS. It was not heart that drove us to believe we *could have* beat them, but the irrational confidence of all teenage players.
The problem is also that “Heart” is the racial trope that is solely trotted out for European-Americans in the US. Especially when they lose to black players who put the work in to be among the elite. The high school career of LeBron is the easiest example. The game when a coach purposely put their smallest European-American player to guard him, was literally on national & regional news segments for over a week. And, the kid was paraded around the basketball news/opinion show circuit, as if he was a great role model for simply doing what his coach said; and LeBron’s work ethic, “heart,” and commitment to always improving was just some low bar he could easily step over.

I remember i transfered to a new school 9th grade and got scouted to play on the basketball team. I hade never played organized basketball and dod good in practice, first game of the season my mom (instead of letting me take the team bus) chose to drive me herself to the game.. (We got there at halftime) my team was up by like 8 and coach made me run laps during halftime. Coach put me in and said, "Andrew. You cant wear your glasses". I never thought about that cause it was never an issue during practice 😅😅 after 4 air balls and 3 fouls in like 4 minutes i got subbed out and NEVER played organized basketball again haha my mother refused to buy me athletic eyewear and just enrolled me in swimming. 😅😅

I love the fact they just played and didn’t go in scared or timid. You can have 5 superstars on a team playing an average team. If that average team gels and flows together great as other 5 all about themselves. This changes the game. It’s a team sport.
Imagine having 5 mega stars in their prime together that gelled like this. It would be priceless art.
When I watch Manchester City play, they’re unreal how they move the ball around the field in tight spaces, playing 1-2 touch ball, not greedy.
