Beautiful! As an American I find it so wonderful that these old buildings are kept up and maintained. Here in the USA we tear down the old and put up six cheap homes or buildings in the same footprint. Give Douglas a treat for us on your return!

What a lovely spot. One friend who loves to camp, makes note of the places he didn't have time for This Trip, and thus the Bucket List continues to have fun things to visit on it. I have a feeling, you need to get back to that lovely town to enjoy some of those museums.

Beautiful Bern. Back in the day...we drove from Monte Carlo, Italy, Switzerland, Germany made to it France then Ferry to Dover then home to Sandwich. Clearly, not in a comfortable camper as you are, soooooo jelly😉 of you! For sure, I would've loaded up those cabinets with vino and chocolates. 😊🐊🌴

Your travelogues are simply the best. The photography and the music are thoughtfully done and the off-the-main-road places you drive through provide a glimpse into everyday life in these places. Thank you...Romont looks to be a great place to explore.

Serendipitous indeed! Swerved a mad motorist (I shouted out at that point!), free parking and hookups, a delightful town and glorious weather! Could only have been improved by the presence of a small black and white terrier! ❤️

I know, but long days of travelling and being left alone while I'm snowboarding would be miserable for him.

    • @GothicRockGoddess

The mad motorist is completely typical of driving in Switzerland, in my experience. They absolutely race around those blind bends, often overtaking others while doing so!
Such a beautiful country though. I love it soooo much. :-)

I love a long road trip. Wake up in the morning, decide how far or how long you want to drive and pick an area. If it's good stay two nights, not so, just move on to the next place!

9:45 living in Switzerland for a year now, that is a constant, a lot come over the white line all the time on bends, although that was bad even by Swiss standards. Phew!

Very nice place to spend the night!!! Amazing views.
It sometimes make me sad to see those places for free or little money for a MH,while people who are stuck with a caravan get pushed to a campsite and charched the hell out of them.
We'll be with 2 adults,3 teenagers a dog caravan and car and even of saison we pay more then 40 Euro for a cramped pitch were you've even got to pay for a shower.....and pray it's decent hot.
    Another great video,Andrew.

Nice to see your reaction, I'm not that surprised anymore, because I use those kind of places quite a lot. Anyway I love your enthusiasm!
I try to know where I will be driving to at least the evening before we leave at a spot. I try to have an alternative also, something that can be very useful travelling with kids.

The Aires are the big reason why if your “ travelling“ (as opposed to staying in one place for a week or two weeks) abroad a motorhome makes sense as caravans aren't allowed on them.
Glad you mentioned spending money in the local town, we always try our best to, always have to look a bit harder for the vegi meal for my wife.
We've just return from 6 weeks in Northern Spain in the Campscout , very cold, minus 6 at night, but fantastic, lots of clear blue skies. Been back since Wednesday and wondering why I returned with the grey skies I've had since 🤣🤣.
Since you're previous upload of the on board sat nav and the low bridges I've been looking at the Tom Tom camper, but finding a lot of mixed reviews, you'd think it would be easy but clearly it isn't as even the camper Tom Tom sends the driver down narrow lanes and low bridges, have a look at the amazon reviews.

Wow, Wow, and yes, another Wow. If only the local authorities and councils were this organised in the UK, how life would be so much better for all concerned!
I have to say though, the white BMW drifting onto the wrong side of the road around that bend actually made me jump in my seat, what was he/she doing? That could have been the end of your journey their and then. But, thankfully, it wasn't and you carried on to the truly beautiful town of Romont. When the range of mountains appeared in the distance, how perfect was that? You are so, so lucky, may it continue, enjoy it Andrew.

Hi Andrew. Great video again. I recognised those tunnels through Basel from my previous life being ferried in a taxi between the airport and night stop hotel 😎.
Might be worth a mention that the CHF40 vignette fee is only valid for Motorhomes under 3500kgs. Motorhomes over that pay a daily fee which, ironically, can be cheaper than the annual vignette for shortish visits.
Looking forward to,the next instalment 👍.

The review will come at the end of the series when I've had as much experience of the moho as possible. Any sooner might mean I miss something that only becomes apparent down the line.

Thanks for your quick reply Andrew we’ve been living in our new personal van for six months now and are loving it. But would love the Mercedes version that you’re in.

Gruyères is even more beautiful than Romont. It would be a shame if you missed it.
